'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

I reallly like this commit. Especially because it helps us become very very selective at RB the rest of the way IMO.

Eh not really. They already know who they want as a speed back with Kimbrow, should have been more selective on the power type back IMO.

I didn't know Trent Richardson had a Heisman Trophy winning father who played at a different BCS School.

Oh, and Anthony Dorsett says hi.

what does this have to do with what i said? Trent Richardson was a big fish RB

I just dont like the taking of players of this type this early. Not saying I wouldnt take him at all but this early on things can change and I really couldnt stand all the drop so an so for this guy.

Well they took Christian Harris and he played like a 4 star his senior year. They also took Justin Coleman who was very good his senior year. What about Vincent Dallas? He had offers from every where even though he was a 3 star. Chill out Cross is very good he was just hurt last year.

what type is he?

I've been away all weekend, so I just got home and heard the news. It's great to have a little bit of good news, especially with the negativity surrounding the NCAA investigation and a subpar basketball team and the like.

Nice to get the ball rolling on the Class of 2012. Imani looks like a very productive back who can run the football down defenses' throats. I like this pickup, and I really don't care one way or another about the timing of this pledge. It seems like he wants to be a Volunteer, but I do realize that a lot can change between now and National Signing Day 2012.

With that being said, Rocky Top bids you welcome, Imani! We are glad to have you on our side.

Who needs big fish when you recruit a Heisman winner.

If you can find that under-the-radar future-Heisman-winner every year...then you need to be calling CDD and applying for a job. Or CMR would be preferable to me, lol.

I should have said "anymore" or "lately" at the end of that other comment.

head: Cross is a good back, it is early in the year and where a guy is ranked doesn't mean much for most prospects at this point. UT needed a big, bruising power back and this guy is it. He is a good pickup this early before USC can reconsider and try to come after him.

I was referring to saban and a back named mark Ingram ...... Saban looks like he's recruiting running backs very well. Don't really understand the part of me calling up Dooley for a job..... ?????

Maybe the fact that this staff accepted his commitment is an indication of how good they think he can/will be for the team.

99.9999999% knew. I almost corrected it but took the time to post the "what type of back" post. Most people just need to read the words that people put in print and then read them again before jumping to conclusions.

The staff is wrong, just ask some of the talent evaluators in this thread.

I'm really glad we didn't get Mark Ingram a few years ago. He would definitely not be good enough to play for Tennessee. He only runs a 4.6 40. Def not UT caliber.

Power backs need explosiveness. Look at Ingrams first ten yards at the combine.

I was saying that he won't recruit an Ingram every year so he does need the "big fish".

About the job...if you are that guy that doesn't need to look at the "big fish" and can look into the under-the-radar group of guys and pick out that guy that is just a 3* prospect in every single recruiting class but will blow up in college and win the Heisman, then you should be working for CDD and helping UT get those guys every year.

It was a joke that isn't really funny at all after explaining it. :p
