'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

That's what's surprised me. So many people were calling Hill a "scat" back; from all accounts I've heard he's a slab of muscle.

Who were those people? If they were watching film without seeing him up close then that could explain alot. You kind of get a whole different impression if a "scat back" is 6' 225 lbs.

I remember when Hill first committed and everybody was crying about it because he wasn't a 4 star back.

What hurt Hill was his competition level. Plus I don't think he went to that many camps. If you want to get recognized as a recruit you have to do a lot of the 7 on 7 circuit and go to combines like UA or NUC puts on.

Looking at his Rivals page I see where he camped at Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Vanderbilt and Tennessee. He held an offer from Michigan and Pitt. I did find additional quotes on his speed that I found interesting.

"I had a great time at camp and getting to work with Coach Salem," he stated. "Coach Salem said he was impressed with my athleticism and told Coach Narduzzi that I reminded him of Larry Caper. Coach Dantonio was impressed with my speed. I ran a 4.6 forty. He said they subtract a tenth because it was on the grass field so I really ran a 4.5."

One of the reasons why SpartanMag.com believes Hill has seen his stock take off this spring is due to the fact that he has shown that he has legit D1 speed. Hill can take it the distance when he breaks into the open field. He clocked a 11.0 100-Meters this spring for Marlington High School. Not many 220-pound running backs can touch that number.

I actually don't like really tall RB's. Rarely do they have a low center of gravity giving them the ability to make great cuts. I hope Borque isn't as tall as advertised either.

I like a 5-9" to 5'10" back as well.

- Emmit Smith - 5'9"
- Walter Payton - 5'10"
- Jamal Lewis - 5'11"
- Jay Graham - 5'11"
- Arian Foster - 6'1"

Arian Foster is about the same height which shows it is possible but absolutely more rare.

(I AM NOT COMPARING HILL'S ATHLETIC ABILITY TO THESE GUYS, SIMPLY THEIR HEIGHT)

i agree. bourque offers more of what we need. however, i do think nebraska is a good fit for cross. hopefully it works out for him, seems like a good kid.

Absolutely agree. Seemed like a great kid. Personally I still wish he was a part of our class instead of Hill. Though I have nothing against hill. Best of luck to Imani.

Exactly. Great fit for him. I hope he tears it up.
me too.I really liked cross.I hate it when We have to turned down a player We said yes to.Better than wasting his years here and not playing .Good luck Mr.Cross hope you come in second to our running back in the awards column.

Sweet, I hope we meet him in a bowl game. Wish the best for him. I'll be following his career for the next 3 to 4 years.
