I'm with ya. The Printz factor doesn't hurt either.
That's not a sure deal. Nice but no dice. Printz is going to be the next Heaps, Scroggins, Rodrigues, etc that spurned us for other teams. I'm not getting my hopes up with him, to be let down. Richardson, Bolin, Kempt, even McCrary would be better options. UT is not his dream school.
IMO yeah, but I'm kinda biased. I really want to see the kid get an offer.
I am also high on Hegedus' game, Sab.
However, it is hard for me to see UT offering unless UT misses on many other WR prospects.
Bowles committed today. UT seems to be the leader with Cordarrale Patterson and Jason Croom. UT also seems to be in good shape with JUCO Javon Bell and ATH Alton Howard (who can also play WR).
Patterson and Croom are obvious takes before Hegedus, IMO. As much as I like Hegedus' game at WR, I like Patterson and Croom's game better. I also like Javon Bell better at WR, but I don't know how that would work since he is also a JUCO.
Much is resting on how many WRs the UT coaching staff decides to take. It really is unfortunate that a WR like Hegedus is put in this position because it seems UT is high on about 4 or 5 other elite WRs in this class.
Sab, what do you think about UT's WR recruiting? What's your take on how it goes down?
I agree with you. The one thing I'm wondering though is if we take 4 WRs instead of just 3 now that Smith is gone. He would have had the same amount of eligibility when he shows up as the guys in this class. Just a thought.
I think, for now, we land Patterson and another guy like Croom or Redding. If Croom does what I think he will do on the 18th of August, it will be him.
Redding likes UT a lot and doesn't hold a UGA offer which I think he wants. I could see him being the guy since the coaches like him, but if Heg gets an offer, he won't wait for another receiver to commit, he'll pull the trigger fairly soon.If UT takes a fourth WR, who do you got? Patterson, Bowles, Croom, and who?
I would like Bell, Hegedus, or Howard. They are all 3 such different players though.
Bell is a JUCO, but is extremely talented. I would want him most out of the 3, but I doubt it would happen because I find it unlikely UT take 2 JUCO WRs.
So then it would be between Hegedus and Howard I assume..
Who you calling?
Heg said he feels better about getting an offer. He said he talked with Dooley for 30 minutes and was told to "be patient".
I just don't see how we're going to have room for 4 WRs in this class
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
2 OL (Bullard + 1)
3 DT
2 DE
3 LB
1 DB (Orta)
That's already 18. I'd rather have a 4th DT, 3rd DE, 4th LB, or 2nd DB before we take a 4th WR.
In 2012:
Sr: Z Rogers
Jr: D Rogers, J Hunter, M Milton, C Patterson
So: D Arnett, V Dallas
Fr: D Bowles, J Croom
I don't think he's the 4th most talented, but if Dooley puts as much value in "Vol Pride" as he says he does, Heg should be the 4th.
