It's hilarious isn't it? If Autry had committed to UT today, SGM would be nowhere in this thread. But since he chose another school he graces us with his presence...what a clown :birgits_giggle:

The anger towards him is misplaced. So he doesn't want to come to a team that is 5-7 and lost to the worst ****ing Kentucky team of the last 15 years? Darn him, that selfish SOB...because he didn't come here he isn't that good. Forget the stars and rating he has by his name that people usually focus on.

Maybe the nightlife is not what sold him on playing at Miss State. Maybe football and what it offered was what sold him on it. Alot of kids do not need the party scene or other things to be happy. The kid has NFL talent and I guess he feels his choice in schools will get him to where he needs to be.

Guys...let's be honest...this one hurts...BAD...

We can get caught up with in-fighting and jockeying for e-cred/"insider" status...but regardless of any of that the facts remain the same...this guy is an elite prospect, we were all certain that we had him...and yes....painfully...this is a BAD omen with Damien Jacobs...

I hope our staff has something up their sleeves to counteract this cause this class just took a major hit

don't have a lot of hope for Jacobs right now... I hope I am wrong. but I think we may be in trouble...

Every year you're going to lose a guy you thought you had locked up (Dawson, Autry). Most years you'll steal a guy that was locked up too (Rogers, Meredith). They don't always balance out, but Autry wasn't going to win us 3 or 4 games more than we'd have lost without him. As long as we keep the rest of our class together, we'll be just fine.

That said, it does suck when a guy drops like that.

Big blow to what was supposed to be major upgrades to the defensive line next year.

With this little time left, it's almost a foregone conclusion, (to me atleast) that there will be no pulling anything out of their sleeves. It's just too late. Atleast we have O'Brien, Taylor, and more than likely Sentimore. We have a great class regardless of losing out on Autry, and probably Jacobs.
