'12 JUCO DE Denico Autry (MSU signee)

Let's just hope we can hold on to Jacobs...I know they say they aren't a package deal but I've always felt like they were...I feel like Jacobs is more important than Autry

i cant blame the kid..its called leveraging offers, do you not really think these guys dont tell every recruiter that calls them they wouldnt love to come play for there school. they dont want to burn bridges and commit to one school right away. the same way all big college programs have HUGE recruiting boards that are leveraging offers to kids all over the country.

the coaches wont be that suprised in the end because thats all part of the recruiting game.. what would he look like if he told every school he wasnt interested in them and in turn WE end up saying sorry son but we have decided to go after another DE and then all his offers are gone. dont be ridiculous! he has to look out for himself just as much as Tennessee has to have a full board of recruits for when stuff like this happens...the best part of all is that he could very well still sign his letter of intent to TENNESSEE anyways on NSD..verbals mean nothing

none of that really has anything to do with this situation

If you thinking I am a Miss State fan helps you feel better about losing out on Autry, you do what you gotta do. Bashing the kid for not picking Tennessee is not going to help.

Where have I bashed Autry? The only player I have EVER bashed is Palardy. That's all in over 2 years. But hey, keep thinking I am bashing Autry if it helps you feel better.

how so? i read over 20 pages of this thread from people obv upset because he went back on his verbal from Tenn and decided to go to Miss st instead. all i had to add to the convo was that this whole situation is all part of the recruiting game

Guys...let's be honest...this one hurts...BAD...

We can get caught up with in-fighting and jockeying for e-cred/"insider" status...but regardless of any of that the facts remain the same...this guy is an elite prospect, we were all certain that we had him...and yes....painfully...this is a BAD omen with Damien Jacobs...

I hope our staff has something up their sleeves to counteract this cause this class just took a major hit

Sentimore is pretty important now.

He never was a verbal. He may have told the coaches different , but he was never a commit to Tennessee.

excuse me he didnt actually "verbally commit" but everyone was sold he was a lock and changed his mind and everyone went freakout mode like this doesnt happen everyday with highschool recruits all the way up until NSD

Howard was recruited by more than UCF

Kiffin lost a recruit to New Mexico

It happens

Yeah and we have won some nice recruiting battles with other schools over the last few years as well. This stuff happens every year. Autry wasn't committed to UT so technically we didn't loose him. Jacobs is committed and would hurt pretty bad if we lost him.

1. He supposedly committed to the coaches multiple times, so no.

2. They were surprised.

3. We definitely had a spot for him.

4. He won't say his letter of intent on NSD, as he is an EE and will enroll in January.

Literally nothing you said applies to this situation.

He has 2 years to see the field. Hope he takes a look at who they have returning and who is coming in.

I do as well. I just think he probably thinks he can beat out those others and earn a spot to start. Couple that with his friend committing there, and it doesn't look good to me. But hey, that's just me. I'm the only guy on VN, with zero sources, connections, or inside information.
