so in no way at all was he leveraging offers from multiple schools?? he might have told Tenn staff multiple times he was coming here and who knows how many times he did that with 100 other schools recruiting him too...

He isn't better than the number 1 DT in the country. He isn't better than Nick James either. Also since they have 7 returning tackles , he likely isn't better than all of them. I don't know how he can pass up playing time to "hang with his friend". JMO

I am now to the point, everytime I see pages of overreactions, I plan to come in and say the most subtle idiotic thing I can think of to make them realize how dumb most the crap they are saying is.

I don't know what the kid did, but what is your point? If what you describe did happen, where I come from that is called being misleading and downright two faced, but that's just me.

what would accomplish by "leveraging" offers from schools that would take him at any time?

Don't think this has been posted yet. From someone on VQ who lives in the Charlotte/Albemarle area (where Autry is from):

I've been almost 100% sure he would be a Vol. That's all I've heard. Have not idea what changed but what a terrible decision the kid made. Don't even know what to say other than it's a big loss for us and likely him.

I've been on the phone tonight with friends, relatives, and coaches in and around Albemarle and Stanly County as well as some coaches in Charlotte. And they are all in disbelief - total disbelief. Football is HUGE in Albemarle and Tennessee has a ton of fans in the area cause of where its located and its passion for football. Unc, nc state have always been basketball schools. And OJ owens also is from right outside the city limits. People remember him attending UT and the support he got when the disease basically ended his career for.they'd Vols before it even started. Then there's Reggie white who played for ut and the Panthers. Denico would have been a dl at the school white starred at. And his family and friends would have attended most if not all.the games with a huge game and tv following.

Dude in no way am I trying to fight with u or start an argument I'm just stating that the majority of this guys get calls everyday from programs and all say they would love to play for there school..Im saying I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket and not have offers from other programs ready just incase..that's all I saying

he had all the offers anyway and they would have stayed on him until he was enrolled at UT. This isn't a kid trying to get other offers since he already had them
