I'm not arguing that at all, of course we need the elite players like them. My point of all this was your original post, and they way you had defended Golden when somebody would say something. Nothing more than that really/

And as I said i mis worded it.

This team is still good and golden is still good with him the exact same next year.

However, I think if he improves and is great, we are great.

And if golden isn't great next year and we have Fabyon, we still atleast have the chance to be great.

As I said, this is exclusively with an elite type like Fabyon. You don't throw the scholarship at someone who is worse than trae. However, we do need a serviceable backup IMO so we need to add someone. Why not Fabyon?

Best case scenario would be to land Fabyon, then move Trae to the 2. Both our guards would be able to create their own shot which would be great.

Absolutely. Maybe I should have been cleared in my initial remarks when we had that argument earlier this month. If you can add an elite guy you do, and worry about who plays where later...

I agree though. Best case scenario would be add Fabyon and move trae to the 2.

Basically it'd be like having Chris jones here and golden at the 2 instead of skylar. We are instantly better.

Also, trae an the team would benefit greatly, from trae having the PG experience from this year. If teams press we have 2 PG out there, and against zones 2 good ball handlers.

The possibility of that excites me more than anything. Also we could get more penetration when teams throw the zone at us.

Exactly.

If Kenny is returning, which I believe he is, Fabyon becomes my biggest wish for 12' class.

With him I truly believe we are elite 8 good, and once you're that far who knows....

PG Fabyon 30/ Trae 10
SG Trae 20/ Jordan 20
SF Jordan 10/D'montre 30
PF Jarnell 30/ Jeronne 10
C Jeronne 20/ Kenny 20

That gets me giddy

Been looking at his stats as his team continues to advance in the NJCAA Tourny. Fabyon is a great rebounder for his size. Also any more news on him.

McBee and Richardson will get minutes too.

McBee will get his minutes. Don't know that Richardson will.

skylar plays 25 minutes on average in conference play. add fabyon like we were talking about and he will be lucky to get 15 minutes in my opinion in all honesty...

if dmontre edwards turns out to be a scrub, and mcrae is forced to play all his minutes at the 3 then skylar may see a max of 20, but i dont see anymore even being a possibility.

as you said, then you add richardson and the only minutes he'll get will be by taking some from skylar. not a bad problem to have though, so much talent at the 1 and 2 you dont have enough minutes for it all.

first post, read tons of discussion on volnation, thread is a great read.

Welcome to VN! Hope you enjoy your stay.

Here are the three rules you need to know about VN.

1. Make sure your sarcasm meter is never broken and you can take a bunch.

2. If you have any questions, just ask. There are a lot of different acronyms we use here.

3. If you go to the football or recruiting forum, BEWARE. I mean BEWARE.

Doesn't bother me if doesn't bother you.
If you're in sports felonies don't matter. That's just for regular people.

If you only had guys on your roster with squeaky clean pasts you'd have a hard time fielding a very competitive team.

These kids all deserve chances IMO, and many grow up in rough areas. A lot of them have made some mistakes in their youth, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get a chance.

I'm not suggesting that they get immunity to things once on campus, but I don't think Fabyon stealing something as a 17 year old should keep us from bringing him in. Has he been in trouble since then? The interview with his coach I saw, the coach really praise Fabyon for turning his life around.

I'm all for it. just wish we had the same attitude toward offenders in the real world.

You were probably against Daniel Hood being on the football team too, am I right? Not being a smart*** just want to see what your stance was. It seems to be working out fine for all parties considered.

No I'm not against anyone being on the team. I supported Hood.
Just a chance to plug the double standard.

If Coach Martin wants him I would say his character is not a problem.
