'12 JUCO PG Fabyon Harris

Really hope we can get this kid, but would we want to bring in two PG's with the guy that will be eligible next January?

Bring in two PG's?

He's the only incoming PG thatd be coming in next years class.

Also, Stanton which is the PG I assume you were referring to, is a walk on and not a scholarship guy and I thought would be eligible at the start of next year?

Something to consider Josh Gray 2012 Pg just opened back up his recruitment from MSU and currently holds a UT offer. From what I've seen I would much rather take this kid for 4 years instead of Harris for 2. Gray is a pass first Pg that can defend. If we indeed are on the market for a Pg better option in my opinion.

They all sound like blockbusters on ESPN but this guy could be a good 4 year investment.

Gray is about as quick as they come at the point guard position. His change of pace and 2nd gear are impressive as he keeps defenders back peddling most of the time. He can weave his way to the rim and has the dexterity to finish in a variety of ways. While in the paint area he has the vision to drop off some terrific passes to open teammates. If his drive gets cut off he has the ability to separate off the dribble and pull up for the 20-footer. His release is extremely quick and his shot is prolific.

Not sure if we take Gray with Landry about to come in.

Zo would play them at different positions as combos.
If we're going to keep the 4 guard set it might be nice to have some guys that can play it.

What? A point guard who passes? Controls tempo? Etc.? Folks on here would never want that.

I think the 4 guard thing was a response to injuries and suspensions. Not something Martin is trying to go to.

On topic, while I appreciate anyone willing to come and put on the Orange and White, if UT is going to shoe horn someone into the 2012 class, I would prefer it be a post player.

Also, Hyams said on the radio the other day that the coaching staff really likes the transfer kid (can't remember his name) so this might cool them off on signing another PG. I guess he has been practicing with the team. Hyams also said the staff is trying to convert Ruchardson to PG. According to Hyams, the staff really likes the idea of a 6'5 Richardson at the point. So in your opinion which makes us a better team next year, and gives us the best chance of making a deep tourney run...

Adding a post guy like a mitchell(signed already) or Nolan, to back up Stokes and Maymon and possible even Hall if he return.

Or

Adding a true PG who is lightning quick and a great defender. Would step in and probably start at PG, and move Trae to the 2.

IMO...the 2nd option without a doubt is the option that gives us the best chance to go deep next year. By adding a PG, and being able to slide Golden to the 2, and in effect letting Mcbee come off the bench, we immediately become a better offensive and defensive team IMO. The talent of the starting 5 would be through the roof, and our bench would also be very talented as well.

Jmo.

I'd have to lean towards some depth at the post.
We might see how important that is against MTSU.

Really?

You think we're better as a team with stokes maymon yemi hall and a recruit

Than

Harris, golden, McRae, stokes, maymon starting

Mcbee, Richardson, Edwards, hall and yemi on the bench.

???
