Not that numbers tell the whole truth, but I thought I'd shed some light on the Fabyon situation. I'm gonna post his numbers along with Chris Jones who many know and wish we had, and Pierre Jackson the juco pg for Baylor that preceded Fabyon Harris at CSI.
2011-2012: Fabyon Harris 5'10" 165lbs... 17.5ppg 5rpg 2.7apg 1.2 a:to 1.8 spg 41%3pg 75%ft
2011-2012: Chris Jones 5' 10 165lbs... 18ppg 4.6 rpg 4.2apg 1.9 a:to 1.8spg 39%3pt 71%ft
2010-2011: Pierre Jackson 5'9 180lbs... 18.5ppg 3.8rpg 4.4apg 1.6a:to 1.9spg 38%3pt 87%ft
Not bad. I'd like him to have a better apg.
That's my biggest ?
From what I've heard he is forced to be the man on his team and provide their scoring. He'd prefer not to shoot as much and be more of a distributor. I think he probably forces things and that could be a result of his a:to. Unfortunately, nothing to really go off besides what he's done in juco.
This was from senior year in HS...
A 5-foot-9, 160-pound point guard, Harris joins the Cougar program out of Chicago's Hyde Park Academy. As a senior, he averaged 26.0 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals per game on the way to being named an ESPNChicago.com All-Area selection.
"Fabyon is a very good ball-handler with quickness, speed and athleticism. He is a winner who defends and plays hard with toughness," Dickey said. "He gets his teammates involved and can also score. We are excited about Fabyon being a Cougar."
Harris is described by some recruiting services as a "scorer", "playmaker", "outstanding defender" and "leader".
Other than great defender (Trae got better as the year went along), you described Trae.
1. Trae was not a great defender at the end of the year
2. Trae is not a true PG as compared to Fabyon
3. The 3 pt shot of Fabyon is much better and of greater range than that of Trae.
Point remains wouldn't you like another "trae"(with better ball handling and defense) on the team???
How is Faybon a true PG? Reading and watching, seems like he is a scoring first PG.
Could be some good news...a guy A&M offered awhile back, but was committed to Mizzou has committed to A&M. He's a 3* PG and that now makes a 4* pg 3* pg and 4* SG they have signed.
Could cool them off a bit on Fabyon.
Don't want to bust your bubble but, they graduate 3 guards this season.
Only return one guard with any scoring production.
One of the graduates is the PG.
Ok so 3 guards graduate, including 1 PG.
They've now signed 3 highly rated guards, 2 of the signees are PGs.
I don't see how this isn't somewhat of good news.
And what 3 scholarship guards are graduating? I count one.
Might be better to look at what they're returning.
4 guards, one Elston Turner who accounts for 13.8 of their 21 total ppg. Scholly or not they need more scoring from their guards.
Fabyon would start, whereas here, he's a back up or at least expected to earn his position.
