'12 JUCO PG Fabyon Harris

Can't listen. Does anyone have an update on what he said?

My apologies I thought that site would have an archive of their shows or something...

Basically what I took from it when I listened...
-down to 4 schools: A&M, Tennessee, ok st, ole miss
-going on an OV to A&M and would like to take 1 or 2 more after that
-wants to play ball with the returning players on his visits to see how they gel
-says hell go at whoever the returning players are at his position and will challenge them
-would like to make a decision within 3 weeks
-says he has really matured and following Pierre Jackson has been big for him
-says he can really be a scorer or distributor, he'll do whatever the coach asks of him

I love the part when he talked about going at and challenging the returning players at his position. Says he isn't scared of anyone and he gets that from playing in Chicago verse guys like Anthony Davis, d rose sherron Collins etc etc. reminds me a bit of how bobby maze had that same mindset to really challenge and go at the other PG's. If he were to sign here, even if he didn't start, I think it'd be great for trae to battle with him every day in practice.

On a side note: the hosts of the show before he came on were discussing him and it sounds like hell be competing more at backup SG and PG. from what they were saying the staff is very high on the highly rated freshman PG Reese coming in and that he'll most likely be the starting PG. then they return their SG, senior Elston Turner so I'm sure he'll retain his spot. So it appears Fabyon would probably get backup minutes at both spots, could be something that factors into his decision.

Interesting and thanks a ton for posting. I think he's A&M's, especially with his buddy close by but I'd love to get him.

Little side note...he says Memphis has started calling and showing a lot of interest lately, but he doesn't list them in his top 4.

He shouldn't state he wants to play a pick game with returning players since its a no no with the ncaa. Announcing that as a factor in his decision opens up a can of worms.

It wasn't a, whatever school lets me play with the guys is the one I'm going to. It was a, on my visit I'd like to see the campus, play with some of the guys, see the facilities etc etc. I don't think that's out of the norm.

I am sure there are some impromptu pick games but it is a violation if the staff knows about it and they are obligated to stop it. It would be a major violation if any staff member was present.

I've heard of these "pick up" games and "shooting around" with the guys multiple times and never heard of it causing an issue.

Whether the staff knew or not it's hard to prove just as long as Rey weren't present. Not hard for ccm to say hey jarnell your gonna host Fabyon and get a few guys together to play some ball if ya want. End of it.

Not saying its clean or right, but if you think none of this goes on you're in denial.

As I stated I am sure they happen but him publicly stating he wanted to play a pick up game makes it harder to turn a blind eye.

It's the same thing as guys saying after they signed that I really gelled with the other players when we shot around on my visit and what not.

My point is I really don't see this becoming an issue, and if it's such a big deal I'm sure the NCAA has already caught wind of this broadcasted interview and they will be sure to advise all parties going forward.

Not a big deal is correct but its a very similar kind of violation to having improper contact with a recruits and we know how those things can turn out.

He doesn't have an offer right now and there are no plans to bring him in on an official visit at the moment. Things could change if there's more roster movement, but as of now there's nothing going on.

Thanks for the update.

Wished we'd have used the scholly on him instead of Moore but its understandable.

Guess that means nobody else is expected to leave though.

If he wants to come, Tennessee will find room for him. I like Moore and think he will help our teams a lot.

Backup plan in case our current JuCo commit doesn't qualify, IMO.

No offer yet, just gauging interest.

Memphis will sign one more, most likely a post player.

Really? If that's a rule, then it's broken by pretty much everyone.

Hell, UNC played a pickup game with the president that was covered by every news outlet in the nation two summers ago.

Memphis city prospects are always playing with former and current Tiger players at The Finch over the summer. There have even been video tapes put up by some Memphis sites.

Pick up games are fine but not with recruits on their visits. The rule was put in place to keep schools from conducting tryouts or evaluating kids while they are on campus. Is the Finch on campus?
