Talked to a buddy of mine who's son plays football with CP both are from rock hill and he told me that grades was probably the issue he will nOt be EE. Tried to see if he knew anything more but he said he doesn't.

Also, it doesn't do any good to sign a highly-regarded JUCO player if the kid can't qualify (i.e. John Brown). With the new restrictions on signings, there is inherent risk of taking Patterson. That's a decision that Dooley and Co. will have to make. With the current players we are looking good with (and the current WRs we have committed), the staff may take someone else over Patterson. This situation is very fluid.

So are you down to 98% now? :)

So there is no wiggle room with the new rules?

Meaning sign 26 and tell one he is greyshirting if everybody qualifies.

Haha...no more percentage projections from me. Learned my lesson.

So in your opinion, do you think we might focus our attention to Fuller or Davis with the recent concerns with Patterson? It appears both have interest in Tennessee, and I think they would be takes if one of them wanted on board.

Yikes.

I thought he was the second best WR available this year aside from Diggs and was ready to lose another current commit in favor of getting him.

At juco you have school and football and if you are only doing football you get to join thousands with NFL ability who couldn't navigate the farm system of college to get there.

Welcome to the board. Glad to have another class act.

Been on the board for 3 years and you are the first I've come across to act like this. Congratulations, you reached this high mark in less than 100 posts!

And again I'll say it...I hadn't read any of your post and couldn't care less what you had posted prior.

There is an ignore button. There is only one way I see to take your quote from OCI.

So,

CP is not going to be an EE.

Does that disqualify him from Dooley's recruiting strategy this year? I guess that spot will be filled?

That's what I've read on here. If a JUCO only has 2 to play 2 and isnt an EE, he really isn't on campus very long. It makes sense to me, but I could deal with that baggage for a talent like Patterson.

Yeah, well he looks like a solid NFL prospect. Size and speed. Dooley is killing it with the JUCOs.

With his talent, get him to major in basket weaving or tiddly winks. Even if he flunks out after next fall, we get him for a year to frolick through secondaries with Hunter and Da'Rick.

If we are in on several more good recruits as OCI and Skeeter both suggest, I feel better about the fact that we may not get Patterson. I want CP as much as everyone else, but if we were to completely fill our needs on defense and pick up an elite RB, I will be extremely happy, even if we miss on CP.

What I tried to say earlier in the thread... be careful.

No need to be careful. We will finish with who we finish with.

If we land a stud like Hamilton or Collins to go with Autry, Sentimore, and a good RB like Davis, then I'm fine with missing on CP. Would I like to have him? Who wouldn't, but defense and running back are much more of a concern than WR at this point.
