Sad days. We offer before USCe and are afraid of a USCe offer because we may lose a recruit to them. I'm still trying to get used to the idea we could actually lose anything to them.

Unfortunately this would make sense. Who does SC have for a QB after Garcia?

Connor Shaw, I think this kid can overtake Garcia this year if Spurrier gets fed up with Garcia. I saw this kid play a couple of times and he's a really good ballplayer.

Enjoyed his visit to UGA. In Patterson's latest article his head coach spoke on Patterson's behalf about his UGA visit. He seemed to enjoy it, but has no leaders ATM. It was comforting to hear that Clemson will not be recruiting him and that his head coach stated that Patterson has not heard from USC. That bodes well for UT. USC needs to continue to ignore Patterson. If both of the in-state schools don't offer then we won't have to worry about the "close to home" factor.

"He has Georgia, Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas State, and Minnesota offers. I have not gotten anything solid from Florida yet as far as an offer is concerned, but they are recruiting him, and I expect them to offer at some point. I have not heard from South Carolina, and Clemson is not going to recruit him, even though they think he is a really good player. They just do not have a spot for him right now," explained Rhoades.
"He is a game changer," admitted Rhoades. "I have coached a lot of good players like Eugene Kinlaw and Patrick Crayton, and I have had first round draft picks like Reggie Nelson, and Cordarrelle is the best player I have coached. Actually when comparing ball skills and ability to make tough catches, Cordarrelle reminds me a lot of Crayton. One handed catches, overthrown balls, shoestring catches, he has made them all. He has unbelievable speed, and honestly that is the name of the game today."

Also interesting to note that Patterson will be a December graduate so he is trying to get as many unofficial visits done as he can now.

I don't fully understand why I get so excited about EE's, but I sure do like them. Would be great to have this guy and Humphries in practice next spring

I think HUGE is the word you are looking for there. Patterson would really benefit by being an EE and would immediately be in the WR rotation in 2012. Would be a sick 3 WR set of J.Hunter, D.Rogers, and C.Patterson.

Also Humphries would benefit by being an EE. Getting in early for spring practice can really give the players a jumpstart and an advantage for the next year. Current EE OL Marcus Jackson is an example of that.

Agree.....Don't forget Arnett and Dallas:good!:

No love for D. Arnett or V. Dallas? :peace2:

Ha I didn't forget about Arnett or Dallas. I just think Patterson is a more talented WR and would be able to contribute in 2012 just as much if not more than Arnett and Dallas.

But IMO Patterson will be a Gamecock if USC offers so it might not matter anyway. Time will tell.

Vincent Dallas is your starting slot receiver as of right now. He can play.

Yeah I've heard he has impressed the coaches big time. Do you think he will be able to hold off Zach Rogers and DeAnthony Arnett (when he gets here) all season and keep the starting slot job?

Also how do you compare Patterson to the other WRs mentioned? I know he is a different type of WR and wouldn't be playing the slot probably, but just from a talent standpoint. After watching film on him I noticed how athletic he is and I think he has the potential to be a great WR.

I called this in a another thread a while back. I also don't think Arnett will pass him. He has more physical talent than Arnett. Arnett was more polished but Dallas has more natural talent. Plus he's already getting coached by Baggett. I knew he was good when Okla St. offered him. Yeah it's not a big offer to some people but they always have top notch skill players. He's going to be hell in the slot.

I dunno if he can hold them off. I am kinda leaning towards Arnett being the starting slot guy in the fall, but Dallas is there for now. Who knows. Both of them can play. Our WRs are gonna be fun to watch the next few years.

Patterson is an elite talent and will see immediate playing time wherever he goes imo.
