Don't worry, Vandy has Dante Fowler and Jameis Winston locked down.

awesome pick up. big guy who can run... he'll stay at RB IMO. Those of you freaking out are only doing so because he's a 3*... if everything about him was the same but a 4*, you all would be talking him up as a bruising RB and comparing him to the next Mike Alstott....

Mike Alstott equals my thoughts on him being a fullback for us. That would be cool to have a weapon like this at fullback for us.

Fits the Fugate mold. A guy big enough to white-eye someone but able to run and catch too. If he is a FB then UT's idea may be to turn the clock back on the role of the FB.

Best pic ever. Sorry about the size.

Not sure why people hate his offer list (which will get better). It's not enough to just look at the schools and their prestige level. Think of WHO is offering them and if they have a good history at the position under that coach.

Illinois - Zook is a great recruiter and has produced Rashard Mendenhall and Mikel Leshoure

Iowa - running back after running back after running back produce there

Pitt - McCoy, Lewis, Graham, etc.

Boston College - Harris led the ACC in rushing last year

If Wisconsin and Michigan State add offers, you've got 2 more programs who KNOW good runningbacks who have offered him.

He's fine.

Because some people are paranoid that if a recruit doesn't get offers from Alabama, LSU, Florida, Gorgia, Ohio St, USC, and Texas then they must not be worth pursuing. Newsflash folks, they can't get them all.

That's what I thought at first. Fugate with a little more speed. He's not a RB. But he's a good FB prospect.

Great pickup IMO. Kid looks like the take his lunch pail to work and earn it kinda guy. I see alot of people saying that just because Hill commited does not mean Cross is gone. This could be very much true. They could be on their way to taking 4 RBs. They could also be helping Cross with his decision to make the call to UVA. If they keep them both....I see no problem with having 2 big backs to beat on teams late in games. Another possibility is the staff likes what they have in Neal, Lane, Smith, DY..add the 2 big backs and maybe they are done at RB for this class. Alot of scenarios still to play out.

Why take two big backs in one class? What possible need is there for "2 big backs to beat on teams late in games?" It's not like all the other positions are deep with talent; they're not. I trust the coaches, but this one has me stumped ATP, and that's not a knock on the player. I just don't know what Big Brain is thinking.

He doesn't cut well enough for a RB.

I would think his 2000+ yards would say otherwise. Maybe his player of the year award at RB would tend to make people think he is a RB. I think people get to caught up in needing 4.3 speed and taking every pitch to the house to be a quality RB. If your 6'2 and 220+ and it takes 8 people to bring you down....I would think cutting on a dime is not of the highest priority. Its 1st and 10 for a reason.....give me 10 yards and keep rolling. Sustained drives are not a bad thing in the SEC. JMO

Kidding me right Pace.....this is hilarious. What big back has been really successful down here? Especially backs that can't cut? Let me know Pace.

I agree with pace here. If he finds the hole and doesn't go down easy then a 10 yard gain is just fine. You don't have to gain 60+ yards often in one play to be a serviceable RB.

Shawn Bryson was the fastest man on the team--sub 4.3. At leastt Fulmer that's what Fulmer said while he was here

Whats funny is you claiming the kid can't make a cut while running the ball. Hello...2000 yards at almost 9 yards a carry. CDD told him he was the last RB they were taking (RB). CDD seems to think the kid can play RB...Ill go with that for now.

Are you saying that no RB at 220+ pounds has ever played at UT or in the SEC who could cut?

So Brandon Jacobs, Shawn Bryson, Al Wilson all wrapped into one. Looks like we got a good one.
To me, he reminds me of Eddie George. Especially how he runs upright. He looks slow on film because of this, just like George did. The numbers show a different picture.

What back in the SEC has been successful without good cutting ability?
