'12 OH RB Alden Hill (UT Commit 7/19)

After reading tos, sounds more like the coaches see hill as a project rb, than a home run.

No offense, but we have no room on our roster for "project" type players. It seems, these days, that that is all UT is signing. We need immediate contributors. Can I get an Amen!?!

I have watched his film, and he has a good combination of power and speed. Very impressive film.

He only has 3 or 4 watchable highlight films (not counting his b-ball dunk and so on) and like what has been said b-4, not an sec caliber back! (judging by film ofcourse)

I think my main arguement is, that I don't see how we pass on Jevon Robinson for hill....

Reading about him, it seems that his hands were very impressive as well. That adds a whole new dimension to an offense when you have a reliable pass-catcher at the RB position.

I think all of us who like to think we know what talent is and are way off most of the time. Most on here said Kimbrow was #1 on the board. He Picked Vandy and then most said that is fine because Cross was #1 on the board. Cross is up in the air now and I would bet within a week another RB may be the new #1 on the board. We are all guessing and or claiming sources that mean little. I seriously doubt anyone has seen the clipboard and or board in CDD office showing who is actually #1 on their board. Ohio produces some pretty good talent. Hill is breaking records all over the state...I see him as a solid pick up.

I liked Kimbro's speed and would like to have him, but he is nowhere near an every down player.
I'll admit I like Cross but for my money, Hill is an upgrade.

No offense, but didn't we have like 14 or more immediate contributors last year?

Robinson wouldn't qualify?

If a lot of freshmen are making immediate contributions, then your program is in the sh*tter. (See last year).

Grades.

I do not know how many times it has been said on this board, but why recruit Jovon Robinson if he is going to end up in JUCO. Obviously they are the same type of back, therefore one would be naive to think the staff just passed on Robinson because Hill was a possibility. The staff cannot afford to miss on a prospect that is a sure thing to get in. I agree Robinson is better, but it is not night and day as you insist.

I'm glad that you are the YouTube highlight evaluation expert. Your conclussions are terrible.

Not an SEC caliber back? Please, in all your infinite wisdom and many years of playing REAL football (not Xbox), enlighten us as to why he isn't an SEC caliber back. In fact please respond in proper writing form so I can forward it to the coaching staff immediately.

Yeah. I guess you could say ALL incoming freshman signees are what you would call "Projects". Let's just hope Dooley and Company score an A+ in the "player development" category.

My guess is Trooper Taylor has become so used to just writing a check to solve the problem that when they took Robinsons commitment this was his plan. "I'll just write a damn check and he will qualify". At some point someone will inform him...writing a check to the NCAA titled "Jovan Robinson's Admissions"..."100,000.00" will not go over well.

Dear Coach Shula,

Your evaluation skills was "fair to middlen" at la tech. But as you well know, you're now at the University of Tennessee. And this is just not acceptable.... As a long time observer of UT athletics, I'm feared you may be taking some questionable pledges. So much so, that many on volnation think you have changed your recruiting angle, to not end up with as many "orta" type recruits! All we ask is for you to go after the best talent possible for UT (see lane kiffen), not as many diamonds in the rough!

Thanks,

Cyclopskiller

Still stand by my statement. I don't think Dooley is going to sign somebody in this class with the intention of them being a FB anyway.
