Everyone forgets that Hill was evaluated in person by the coaches at the camp this summer. After camping he got his offer. He reportedly ran a 4.5 in front of the coaches. He may be a fullback, but IMO I don't think he's slow.

Exactly. And Hill delivers the hit instead of takes it like our current RB's. We need guys like Hill and Cross. I don't think either will be a FB, they're both downhill, beastly RB's. We don't have a single RB like that on the team, do we? So I don't think 2 in one class is going to be a problem.

Tom Smith was suppose to be but he showed up underweight & has been struggling to adjust to our offense. He could have used a redshirt year.

Yeah I like TS. Like you, I just think he needs some time in the weight room and on the practice field.

Also, that's what I like so much about Cross and Hill, especially Cross...they're already big and strong and could contribute right away. Cross looks like a grown man who's been lifting heavy weights for 10 years.

Why in the he!! are you guys always complaining about speed. Hill and Cross are both between the tackles battering rams. You don't need speed for that. They will be good at what the coaches obviously want from them. To beat the other team to death, not outrun them.

They'll compliment Lane, Neal, and Smith well. Neal may end up being the wildcard for us next season. Also Lane is running better and better as the season goes on. He's been stick his foot in the ground and going. The fumble against Bama was just a good strip.

Tom Smith has shown some ability in the few snaps he's taken. He'll end up as a good back for us. I think that redshirt year would've helped him out. But I do like his style of running. I also think the knee injury hurt his progress.

That's what I was thinking. I do think they will try to get a real burner next year though.

hill's been watching tennessee as the vols youth shows glimpses of a bright future.

"i've been watching every week," hill said. "i was glad to see them get a big win this past week. They are facing the same things we faced this year. Just a lot of young guys and it causes some struggles."

he talks to linebackers coach peter sirmon all the time and the two have built quite a bond.

"i talk to coach sirmon once or twice a week," hill said. "he's really nice guy. He's great to talk to and he's helped me with graduating early. We just talk about our lives and what they are doing to prepare for their next opponent. He's just down to earth and he cares."

I saw him play in a couple games this year. I am no talent evaluator for sure, but he was in BEAST mode when I saw him play......and he wasn't running behind an OL that was good in any way. If he doesn't stick at RB, he looks like one of the classic switches to LB that we used to pull under Chavis and watch them turn into an AA.
