goooooovols and MikeD - you guys have both seen Hill in person and you disagree with Montrell?

Live in Kettering, help coach Fairmont Freshman....love HS ball, we usually camp at Mount Union each year....got to see Alden play this year

the home of dyrdek. thats great you coach, you have the opportunity to make lifelong impacts. I will never forget a single on of my coaches.

I disagree, I've also seen him play this year and I believe he could definitely be an every-down back at UT.....very similar highlights to Mark Ingram out of HS...not a game breaker speed back but a 4-5 ypc guy, who breaks one every now and then.

BTW its at least an 4 hours from Cincy....I'm in Dayton and its was 3.5 for us...we went to watch my nephew play at Mount Union and caught his game.

Yeah it takes between 4 and 5 hours to get to Alliance depending on the route. Typically it is around a 4 hour drive from here. Unfortunately ONN has sends us all over the state and I've been to Alliance games more than a few times.

I hope you're right and I hope I'm wrong on Hill. I just dont see the lateral quickness or balance that Ingram had. I really dont see much comparison between the two. He doesn't make cuts like you need a tailback to make. I still think his best position in the SEC would be at fullback. I guess we'll see what happens.

Have you guys played Elder on the freshman level at all over the last few years? I seem to remember that we played Fairmont at some point on frosh, but it could have been a few years back.

Nothing stopping Hill from being a Anthony Dixon type RB.

There are good backs who aren't as skilled as Mark Ingram...

TBH he doesn't look like 4.5 speed. At least the speed factor isn't why he's here. Film was sped up too, not saying it was on purpose lulz

I used to live in the north canton area. Good football area regardless of highschool classification.

It used to be for sure. But Canton area football has fallen off dramatically in recent years. They'll still typically put teams into the state semi's because they are in the weakest region in the state (Combined with Toledo schools). But Canton McKinley's program has really fallen off as has Massillon's. Glen Oak and Hoover will have a solid team from time to time but they all struggle to compete with the teams from the other regions.

whats up mike, i live in perrysburg. i think hill would be a good fullback, not a runningback.

That is how I feel. I think he could be a solid fullback in this league. Think Troy Fleming with a little less speed. There is no way he runs a 'legit' 4.5... I mean you have big-time NFL running back prospects that dont run that at the combine. 40 times are so misleading with all these high school kids especially when most are hand-held by coaches. I'd say he's more in the 4.75 / 4.8 range.

I don't care as long as he lowers his shoulders and hits the hole to pick up a couple yards when it's 3rd and 2. That's what the run game has been missing IMO.

I hated living up there and all I ever heard about was McKinley, Massillon and Hoover and how they were so much better than Southern highschool football teams.
Those teams were good when I was there but I wasn't blown away.
Several good players constantly come from that area every year and it is an OSU pipeline.

I've been with the program "coaching" 3 years....don't recall Elder recently, Don't yall play Alter every year, they're our backyard rivals....great program and coaching.

You work for ONN?

Hill said that Tennessee's coaches especially liked his size and the ability he has at 225 pounds.

"They loved seeing me and my frame, 225-pounds and also with the speed they were impressed," Hill said. "I know coach Dooley was really impressed when I ran a 4.6 electrical time on a grass field and then to back that up with the frame, he was really impressed.

"I'm one of those guys that has some speed and I have power with it. They just wanted to see my footwork and I did a good job with that stuff."

- Rivals article from the Summer. He earned the offer at camp. He may be a TB or a FB in the future but it's too soon IMO to count him out at either position.

Thanks.

Me personally, I'm completely ok with him running an electronic 4.6 being 6'2 and 225. Let McKeefery at him for a bit and he may drop a few pounds but increase his strength/speed. I think he can immediately step in and get us some short down movement that we need so badly.
