I disagree, I've also seen him play this year and I believe he could definitely be an every-down back at UT.....very similar highlights to Mark Ingram out of HS...not a game breaker speed back but a 4-5 ypc guy, who breaks one every now and then.
BTW its at least an 4 hours from Cincy....I'm in Dayton and its was 3.5 for us...we went to watch my nephew play at Mount Union and caught his game.
Live in Kettering, help coach Fairmont Freshman....love HS ball, we usually camp at Mount Union each year....got to see Alden play this year
I used to live in the north canton area. Good football area regardless of highschool classification.
whats up mike, i live in perrysburg. i think hill would be a good fullback, not a runningback.
That is how I feel. I think he could be a solid fullback in this league. Think Troy Fleming with a little less speed. There is no way he runs a 'legit' 4.5... I mean you have big-time NFL running back prospects that dont run that at the combine. 40 times are so misleading with all these high school kids especially when most are hand-held by coaches. I'd say he's more in the 4.75 / 4.8 range.
It used to be for sure. But Canton area football has fallen off dramatically in recent years. They'll still typically put teams into the state semi's because they are in the weakest region in the state (Combined with Toledo schools). But Canton McKinley's program has really fallen off as has Massillon's. Glen Oak and Hoover will have a solid team from time to time but they all struggle to compete with the teams from the other regions.
Have you guys played Elder on the freshman level at all over the last few years? I seem to remember that we played Fairmont at some point on frosh, but it could have been a few years back.
Hill said that Tennessee's coaches especially liked his size and the ability he has at 225 pounds.
"They loved seeing me and my frame, 225-pounds and also with the speed they were impressed," Hill said. "I know coach Dooley was really impressed when I ran a 4.6 electrical time on a grass field and then to back that up with the frame, he was really impressed.
"I'm one of those guys that has some speed and I have power with it. They just wanted to see my footwork and I did a good job with that stuff."
- Rivals article from the Summer. He earned the offer at camp. He may be a TB or a FB in the future but it's too soon IMO to count him out at either position.
