I don't know it's its 100% true or not but I believe his Stanford offer was very early in the process, sophomore year or whatever, and it wasn't commitable in the end.

He had offers from other smaller Division 1 schools, but they were never publicized.

Yeah that definitely makes sense. It would be very hard for me to believe that he didn't have multiple offers from smaller schools.

I played Football with him for a yr, and the coaches would call him into their office and he would come out with a stack of letters. I remember seeing ones from Clemson, kentucky, USF.

A player can have a shoebox full of letters and get one offer.

I hope he develops into a great CB or free safety. He has speed and height.

Yeah, but I've been wondering something about him. For you guys who have seen him play, does he seem to have a mean streak on Defense? I know it's kind of hard to tell, but if you know what you are looking for you can usually spot it. Size and speed are great but without that, you will just get run over in the SEC. For example I think that attitude of "I'm gonna shut you down all day" is the thing Teague lacks. He just is not physical enough.

If Flowd stops by he can tell you. He played HS ball with Blanc.

He has had several big time hits on guys running over the middle. I know flowd and others who have played with Cody say that work ethic is not an issue. The guy goes to work every day to get better. That's the best answer I can give to his "mean streak"... I'll get flowd over here so he can better answer your question.

Gracias.:hi: I was thinking about a better way of posing this question. When I played BB I HATED getting scored on. I was pretty good jump shooter and could have scored a lot more than I did, but I always wanted to play D on the other teams best scorer. That is what I am talking about. You either have that mindset or you don't.

Cody defenenty hates to get beat. Unfortunately he doesn't have much help this year. When Cody was hurt and couldn't go full time he picked playing defense instead of offense when the ankle only allowed him to play one way. Seeing that makes me think he is a more defensive minded player than offensive. He seems to enjoy hitting a guy in the mouth more than scoring a td but thats just my opinion. Hopefully flowd can better answer your question.

Had 10 carries for 10 yards, 11 tackles & 1 PBU Friday night.
He had 3 catches for 1 yard and 8 carries for -14 yards against Powell's varsity defense. Total non-factor against Powell. Dy'shawn Mobley made him look stupid on a couple of long TD runs. If you've got Comcast, the Powell-Central game is on Xfinity.

Cody plays with some attitude. He plays very agressive. He gives it his all every play and he plays to win. I know he has been very frustrated this year playing for Central. He wants to win and it just isn't happening there. I feel bad for him.

I don't know what UT fans will expect out of Cody, but I know he will work his hardest to get on the field. People doubt him because he is a local white player. He plays with a chip on his shoulder because of that. Hope that helps.

Mobley couldn't run for positive yards behind Central's O-Line.

They do have a terrible offensive line. Blanc's definitely got speed to burn though. Powell did an impressive job of getting a hat on him, especially anytime Mobley got into space. I just wasn't impressed with Blanc's open field tackling against Powell. Granted, I've seen him in other games and he's a very good defensive player, but he had a horrible game against the Panthers.

Gracias amigo:hi: That is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

& also, Blanc is an EE so the thought of him greyshirting is probably out the window.

Well, I was wrong about this guy...

some things people should remember, just because a kid plays cb in hs doesnt necessarily translate to cb in college. the blanc kid plays safety in hs i believe, he'll be a lb here in the end. last class i told everyone dont be suprised if maggitt is playing lb.
im just glad we're going after more speed. heres some speed many people dont talk about. i heard Damion Jacobs ran a 4.86 40, not bad for a 6' 4" 293 pound dt.

they're gonna attempt to add the weight. i think hes 195 now, ive heard they think 25 pounds can be added first year in the program. ive never seen the kid, he must have the frame for it.

So, now he's gonna be a LB. I guess they weren't kidding about getting faster, were they?
