A lot of people are going to either their words on this kid.
The coaches love him.
And didn't evaluate him based on film or state talent, it was on up close and personal camps going against some of the best talent in the country - where he consistently outperformed his competition and expectations.
I know I'm going to get the "racist, imo" reply as soon as I post this, but seriously, out of sheer curiosity, are there any white DB's starting in the SEC? Kinda got me thinking and I don't have a computer right now to look it up...
Caucasian starting defensive backs are obviously in the minority in the SEC, as well as most conferences. But there have been a handful of starting DBs in the SEC the last few years that were white.
Craig Steltz from LSU comes to mind. He was a 1st-Team All-American at LSU his senior year at safety.
There are others from other conferences too. Tom Zbikowski, Eric Weddle, Jim Leonhard.
Most caucasian DBs play safety, but it can definitely be done in the SEC. There isn't much of it, but it is there.
Not a starter, but IIRC we had a guy with the last name of Wolf or Wolfe, think he transferred from Tenn Tech.
