Not surprised. Good luck to ya Redmond. If we were real thin at DB I would be a little more concerned. Would have loved to have him, but not a big loss. Again, good luck Redmond.

I think historically we fare pretty well at keeping most kids that we want in state with the exception of Memphis. For whatever reason we have struggled to keep those kids in state.

Not a loss at all. He is a 3* DB (not a position of need) that has a bad attitude, is good friends with Kimbrow, is not very intelligent, and grew up as a uga fan.

I would rather have Crawley or Diggs or save room for a DL or LB.

Did you have to say this. Whether or not its true still didn't need to be said. I haven't heard anything bad from this guy. If I missed it, we still need to be classy and not trash this kid.

IMO, Kimbrow is a Kiffin-type recruit that's a hot head and his #1 reason for picking a school is swagger. James Franklin must be one helluva salesman to convince him that Vandy has swagger, but the point is that he's not really a Dooley recruit. And that's fine, we saw the results of a swagger-class after 2 years anyway. They're all swagged somewhere else or in jail. If Redmond is best friends with Swaggerman, then he may not be a Dooley recruit either. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved for our coaches to have had the chance to work with him, but if he doesn't want to be here, so be it.

if kids commit somewhere based on what people tweet to them, they are idiotic. we don't need idiots like that.

also, I doubt he's going to MSU because he thinks Tennesseans are racist. The state of Mississippi isn't exactly a bastion for civil rights.

It's really sad that some UT fans have to act so immature if a young man commits to another school. I wish Will the best and hope he does well in every game except when MSU plays UT.

Last nights twitter episode had nothing to do with Redmonds choice. In fact, that episode never would have happened if Redmond had any thoughts of UT being a possibility for him. He'd already made his choice, highly encouraged by his handler/street agent Byron D. This guy has basicly declared war on the UT program and threatened Dooley to "play ball with him" or say goodbye to any future Memphis recruits. None of the Memphis kids this year are huge priority for this staff, but it'll be interesting to see how this guy is dealt with in the future, when there's a big time talent there.

It's funny how the kid didnt have a bad attitude untill he committed elsewhere. This always cracks me up.

Actually, I said yesterday on TOS that I did not want him for the same reasons I stated above.

I don't think I have ever even said on here that I didn't want a recruit after we missed out before.

And I will be the first one to admit that I really wish we had gotten Jernigan and Lamar Dawson last year. Now those were big time misses and if we miss out on DJ Humpries, Obrian, Croom, and etc... this year then I will be disappointed.

But I am truly not disappointed on missing out on a 3*Db from Memphis when that is our deepest position especially when he is good friends with someone that openly bashes UT.

The sad truth is MSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama are all closer to Memphis than UT. The biggest sports radio in Memphis carries Ole Miss sports.
