Tennessee defensive backs coach Terry Joseph was with Redmond Monday and the conversation wasn't centered just on football.
"It was good. We really just talked about some things they do defensively and things like that, really. It wasn't just about football and things I know about Tennessee already because I know a lot about Tennessee already," Redmond said. "He was just, pretty much just telling me what was going on with the program and that stuff.
"It would take for them to make me feel at home, make me feel somewhere I belong," Redmond said. "Because every time I'm at State they make me feel at home."
Tennessee will likely try that and there's already a degree of comfort with them.
"It's just a good school and plus it's instate. You can't forget where you come from. They're my instate school and that's one thing going for them," Redmond said.
TOS article said he plans to take an official visit to Tennessee next month. He must have been impressed with his visit with Terry Joseph last week.
Too many people that don't have any coaching knowledge are calling for him to be replaced. He's the Recruiting Coordinator, and coached secondary ranked 12th in the country. Regardless of opinionated talk about his on-field production with the DB's, results don't lie. He's got UT in on McNeil, Redmond, & especially Collins, where if it weren't for him, Collins wouldn't sniff us.
I don't disagree with the sentiment, but the 12th ranked secondary is a stat completely inflated by playing UK in the last week.

Once again I try to tell people this about the Memphis kids. Most know about and like UT football. Im not saying it makes them locks or anything, its just not some foreign land where they hate UT, like some believe. A few years of building good relationships with Memphis again is all we need.
