12 TN RB I'tavius Mathers

What is the deal with high school coaches in Tennessee? It seems like they point kids away from UT far more often than most HS coaches in other states. Did Fulmer ruin a lot of relationships in the state or what?

That is not case in this situation at all. Shad did not have any problems with Fulmer. His issues are with Rod not getting a fair shake at WR. My view, for what its worth, is that 3 different staffs have determined him to not be able to compete for playing time at WR. Sounds simple to me. But I know when a coach is close to a player it clouds judgement sometimes.

I know there are going to be Rod jokes, but let's be for real if Rod was playing WR, then it would be sad seeing a WR getting chased down by guys that have 40 lbs on him.

If we get any of the top 3 backs in state , this is the one I feel we land. Don't know why , just have a feeling. Or maybe gas.

I'm starting to think the staff is higher on Cross and Norfleet than the in-state kids, thus leading them to make harder pushes with those two. Dooley will make in-state recruiting as big of a priority as it needs to be, but don't expect him to pursue an in-state kid harder than a kid from out of state that he and the staff like more. Not saying that is necessarily the case here, but it's starting to seem that way.

I'm sure he would be decent at WR, but he def has the look of a SS. Either way he is a very natural athlete...Jackson won't be back, and Brewer's stock will probably soar after this season. I bet he starts in '13.

I think we could take 3 RB's but IMO Cross is a real possibility of de-committing & Mathers will be a tough pull.

The staff could have Norfleet if they give him a committable offer but it has been said a lot of schools are worried about his size. They don't question his ability.
