12 TN RB I'tavius Mathers

i go to i'tavius's middle school and ive seen him play he is fast but not 4'4 speed more like a 4'5 he is very elusive and very shifty. overall good running back and return guy

If he ran a 4.5 in middle school I sure hope we land him :loco:

Can you really tell the difference between 4.4 and 4.5 from watching someone play?

I watched Mathers serveral times last year. Looking forward to see him play again this year. I hope we get him.... The competition he faces overall is very tough. (Smyrna, Riverdale and Oakland to name a few....
I didn't get to see him though this week at the 7 on 7 drills at MTSU. I was there to see some one else so not sure if he played or not. I think there were 25 teams there.

Blackman was not at MTSU last weekend. (edit saw already posted)

remember that ESPN mini series called "Playmakers". one episode shows the coach and player breaking down film in tenths of a second. You may not be able to tell by the naked eye, but that example in the tv show displays how important one-tenth of a second makes.

Blackman rising senior I’Tavius Mathers, who rushed for a school-record 2,614 yards with 31 total touchdowns in 2010, has narrowed his choices to three SEC schools and one ACC school.

Mathers said his choices — in no particular order — are Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Virginia.

sadly we would beat the snot out of 3 of the 4 teams he's choosing between

This. I'm pretty surprised by his list. The way his friends made it out to be, UK, Virginia, and Ole Miss didn't have much of a chance. I hadn't heard anything in awhile, so I guess that changed quickly.

i'tavius's coach is the same coach of rod wilks the great recruit out of smyrna who hasnt even sniffed the field in his career at ut so his coach dis advised ut to i'tavius when chaney and dooley called....

I'tavius didn't like UT to begin with.

Kentucky and UVA make his top four ahead of Tennessee, Clemson, and Alabama (all of whom offered)? Is he crazy, or is he getting slow-played?
