UPS driver here. This wasn’t a win for Bidenomics. UPS made 23 billion in profits the past 2 years and work us like dogs during Covid. They have made over 2 billion in profits in each quarter earnings this year. All this was perfect timing for the Teamsters in negotiations. The most I have ever made in a year is $101,000. They are trying to say with pay and benefits it equals to $175,000. Got hired in 1995 and we have always had 100% medical insurance family included. What they don’t tell you is that you aren’t going to get hired as a driver off the bat in most cases. I worked 10 years part time before it was my turn to go full time as a Driver. Working part time you only work about 4hrs a day which means you need another job. At least part time you get 100% insurance family included. The article is paywalled now (it wasn’t this morning). I should have posted the quotes then.
She goes on to praise this as a win, and proof, for Bidenomics.

Well level of profit is ok for UPS? At what point does it become too much?UPS driver here. This wasn’t a win for Bidenomics. Political Science needs to be on there51% Of Americans Think Public Colleges Should Stop Offering Degrees That Lead To Low-Paying Jobs | ZeroHedge
43% Believe Students in Low-Paying Degree Programs Shouldn’t Get Federal Financial Aid
More than 4 in 10 respondents agree in most or all cases that students in low-paying degree programs shouldn’t qualify for federal financial aid. 54% of this group say this is because these students are unlikely to repay any loans they receive, and 50% say it’s a waste of federal dollars.
The top degree programs respondents would like to see eliminated from federal financial aid are again gender studies (32%), art history (23%), ethnic studies (20%), religious studies (18%), and classics (18%).
Both Political Parties in Favor of Eliminating Low-Paying Degrees
Interestingly enough, this seems to be an issue on which people from both sides of the political spectrum can agree. There were no notable differences in opinion on eliminating low-paying degrees or removing access to federal financial aid when looking at respondents identifying as Republicans vs Democrats.

Blah blah blah. Americans are vastly overpaid in terms of the global scale which is why jobs are leaving. And it is you one world democratic socialists that are stoking the fires. It's quite sickening that these people continue to vote for the party who's policies will put them out of work and dependent... But after all that is your goal, right? You want everyone dependent on the .gov for everything. Most wage workers in America are grossly underpaid--and of course, that was the reason unions were first started, terrible pay along with long hours, little vacation, no benefits, dangerous jobs, etc. American companies have a rich history of not wanting to pay people. The Wal-Mart Waltons are became billionaires on the backs of employees making little money and lousy benefits. All retail employees are underpaid; management would rather deal with high turnover than pay more to keep employees, and they can dumb the endless hiring and paperwork that goes with it on lower- and middle-managers.
And we all know why a lot of multinationals have opened plants in the South.
No. Universities don’t need to stop offering low paying degrees. Or State schools be barred from offering low paying degrees.51% Of Americans Think Public Colleges Should Stop Offering Degrees That Lead To Low-Paying Jobs | ZeroHedge

72% of UPS stock is owned by institutional investors like Vanguard. These funds are peoples, and unions, investment vehicle for their 401k's for retirement. What do you have against teachers retiring financially well off?Sure UPS didn’t make as much as 2022 but still had over 2 billion in profit in each quarter. Which puts them on pace to have over 8 BILLION in profit this year.
Time for those funds managers to be making a trade to justify their fees I would think72% of UPS stock is owned by institutional investors like Vanguard. And that is the drivers' problem, how again? Management made the deal too ya know. If it isn't economically sounds, management will still do two things: 1) layoff workers... and, 2) award themselves big bonuses.UPS profits were down 21.8% in Q1 2023 and 21.4% in Q2. Not to mention profits are what pays the stockholders.
If they couldn't justify the fees then who would be investing with them? No one is the answer. Clearly people largely think they know what they are doing. It's like when people biatch about the salary and options the CEO of Goldman makes. There is a reason that's the comp packageTime for those funds managers to be making a trade to justify their fees I would think
Lol. It's because of the club they are in. The vast majority of CEOs aren't anything exceptional. Sure there are a few, but overall...nah.If they couldn't justify the fees then who would be investing with them? No one is the answer. Clearly people largely think they know what they are doing. Boomer logicBlah blah blah. Americans are vastly overpaid in terms of the global scale which is why jobs are leaving.
I think the people you are talking about work with the uniparty and look for ways to drive down wages here at home. And it is you one world democratic socialists that are stoking the fires.
Can you tell me what the GOP has done in the past 30-40 years to keep jobs on shore and keep wages up? I can't think of anything substantial right off hand. It's quite sickening that these people continue to vote for the party who's policies will put them out of work and dependent...
