'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

Mr. Henry's choice is whether he wants early/often PT so he can get $20mm after 3 years.

At Alabama, his chances of getting enough PT to go out big after 3 years are limited.

If' I'm the parents, unless they're independently wealthy, UT is a VERY logical choice for the young man if he's playing for the money (and, as I assume, has more brains than DRogers, JJackson and BBrown).

Jamal Lewis came out as a Jr., having only played 28 games (injured as Jr.). He was drafted #5 and 2 years later had a SB ring. He ran for 10,000+ yards, including 2,000+ in 2003, and is #20 all-time in the NFL. No Alabama RB has done as well.

Hope this doesn't affect Green or Turman...

I've been thinking about this and I think that everything points to green coming here , well if Henry commits to us then I think that the staff has sold them on the lsu mentality we want that double punch 50 / 50 where both can play at the same time ? I know I'm dreaming but hey the dream is good for now hahah

TBH.. if Henry commits to us on tomorrow i could care less what Green and Turman thought about it. While Green and Turman are incredible talents My Vols just got a big time back.. that is all that matters to me.

"I hope Henry's decision doesn't effect Green or Turman" would be a GREAT problem to have IMO

Tell Trent Richardson that and Mark Ingram. Neither started for 3 years. MI was a backup his first year and TR was a backup for 2 of 3 years. And BTW what someone did at a school in the past under one staff does not always equate what they will do under the current staff. TR and MI played for Saban who is still at UA. Because if that was the case UA had 3 QBs who 2 won NC while at UA but also all 3 won Super Bowls while in the NFL. I not sure how many schools can claim that and it has yet to help have QBs beat down UA's door today. Just saying.

But heck all logic goes out the door in recruiting.:hi:

I would not say no to any of them. Green is my preference. I could see Henry playing TE or LB and being great at those spots...at any school.

I realize this is not the Recruiting Board. But, tomorrow is a pivotal day for UT's program, and if it goes well, perhaps more important than the UGA game.

Mr. Henry's choice is whether or not he wants to be sure he'll get early/enough PT so he can get $20mm after 3 years. At Alabama, his chances of getting enough PT to go out big after 3 years are limited.

If I'm Mr. & Mrs. Henry, unless they're independently wealthy, UT is a VERY logical choice for the young man if he's playing for the money (and if, as I assume, he has more brains than DRogers, JJackson and BBrown).

Jamal Lewis came out as a Jr. in 1999, having only played 26 games (injured as So.), and with the 1998 BCS-NC Ring. He was drafted #5 and 2 years later had the 2000 SB Ring. He ran for 10,000+ yards and is #20 all-time in the NFL, including 2,066 in 2003 (2nd all-time), with a 295 yard game (2nd all-time). No Alabama RB has done as well.

Very valid points. I think it all comes down to one question:

Does he want to win? Or does he want to play early?

I'm not saying that he won't win if he comes to UT, or that he won't play early if he picks Bama, but those things are the selling points and no-brainers for each school.

Come on Derrick! Be all you can be......Be a VOL baaaaaaaby!!!!!

To be honest I think the one thing that may worry him as with any target for UT right now is the staff and if they will be around. I honestly think if there was no question on CDD being there and I do not mean for 1 more yea,r but Henry looking while he is there for 3 or 4 years Henry would be a Vol. Not saying he still will not.

I would agree with that. And I'm sure that's being used against us with Henry and many other recruits. His relationship with Jay Graham is a selling point for UT, but also something that can be construed as a negative from rivals.

I don't buy the rumor. The kid has been too enamored with Alabama for too long. I will believe it when I see it.

Until DD wins something, UT isnt the logical choice. I hope he comes , I hope all the juniors stay , and next year could be special.

Jamal wasnt your run of the mill tailback, like most medications,,,,,results may vary
