'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

I'm not giving up on beating UGA.
But CDD stays if he beats Miss State and the last 4, which is highly probable. Add a bowl win, and he gets a raise.

If this occurs, he would keep his job as a reward. He has a 6 year deal. Not time to be giving extensions until he starts beating teams of consequence.

I'll be pissed if Henry picks UT tomorrow. Would much rather have Green.

Obviously, both would be ideal. But that's just not going to happen.

I like Green better but we have to take the one that pulls the trigger first we are in no place to turn down 5* talent if they want to commit.

How can one 5 star RECRUIT deter someone who isn't phased by a stable of 5 star running backs on a roster?

Why not? Bama has a handful of RB's that would start over what's currently on UT's roster. And Bama currently has two stud RB's committed for this class. Why can't UT land more than one? Nonsense.

Let me know when it happens. I'll have to see before I believe.

I don't think it's going to matter one bit. IMO Henry had decided he was going to Bama months ago. I like both but if you made me choose I'd take Green. I wouldn't tell Henry to kick rocks if he tried to commit. You take what you can get and don't look back. We need talent at the RB position. I don't care who it is, just get one.

Hasn't happened in a few years at UT but that doesn't mean "it's not happnening". You talk of demands for elite recruiting at UT and how you refuse to accept anything else. But when it looks like a possibility of landing two stud RB's you shoot it down as impossible? I don't get it.

Getting these two, at any program, would be amazing. Dooley should be commended for even having us in that position. Although, I think we all would agree that Henry is picking Alabama tomorrow.

This is exactly how I feel about it.

I would almost rather not get Henry and take my chances with green rather than just getting Henry and having minimal chance with green. And this is just assuming green wants to be the only back in his class

Good point, don't know why people don't get this. Not to mention to two stud recruits they already pickup up for NEXT year in the '14 class.

This.

The best haven't been committing to UT for what reasons? Let's all say it out loud - because our team stunk it up the last two years and we are not certain it won't happen again this season.

The best know this. They know the coaching staff won't be around if it continues. They know the other good/great players won't join them because of this, so they will not be showcased and win championships.

The only answer to this is to win with what you have, which is SEC quality now.
