'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

it hasn't really been Tennessee in a while

Tennessee sells itself. A UT coach should bring in top 5 classes consistently, especially this year with the instate talent. I'm tired of hearing this hot seat crap for the reason we aren't recruiting where we need to be. Dabo Swinney and Marc Richt both had their highest ranked classes on the hotseat.

Not anymore.. Recruits for the most part could care less about UT's tradition.. They were barely out of diapers the last time we won a NC.. It's a 'what have you done for me lately, what are you gonna do for me now' enviroment these days..

I know you don't want to hear this but it is true.. Tennessee does not sell itself like you want to think...

I so don't think he will pick us that I'm not even gonna try to watch it. I will be pleasantly surprised if he does, but not crushed if he doesn't. Personally, I'd rather have Green as a true RB.

I'm not even talking about tradition.

Recruits still know who Jarrod Mayo, Eric Berry, Peyton Manning, Arian Foster, and Jason Witten is.
Recruits still know that Tennesse is one of the greatest nfl factories in college football.

Tennessee still has one of the largest fan bases in America
Tennessee has the best athletic facility in the SEC.

The list goes on and on, if UT didn't sell itself, Dooley would not pull in top 15 classes. If Tennessee didn't sell itself, UT wouldn't be ranked higher than Oregon, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Arkansas, Nebraska, and all these other schools who have had more recent success than UT.

The fact you guys were even still in it is a testament to Dooley and his staff.

You have some folks on this board who need to remember that.

This is Tennessee, not Vanderbilt

Means nothing nowadays............you guys have gone to bowls only what.........3 of the last 6 years? For him to have you in the hunt for what many consider the premier athlete in the country, and doing it head to head against the strongest program in the country means something.

I agree with this. We've been pretty much nationally irrelevant the last few years.

UT also has 1 SEC Championship appearance the last 6 years, the same amount as UGA and South Carolina.

So why has Notre Dame and Michigan(pre-2011) been able to recruit in the top 15?

Derreck, if you come to Knoxville, you will go to heaven.

If you go to Bama, well, hell will sound good to you after that experience.
