'13 GA CB Shaq Wiggins (Transferring to UT)

Not sure what there is to laugh about. The possibilities of him flipping are real. This visit is like a commitment taking a last second visit out of the blue the weekend before signing day, and not telling the coaches. Many times it ends up in a flip. Reaching out to TN media members means nothing. He could easily be setting up some drama for his flip.

I was mostly laughing at the fact that the article makes it seem like it's a foregone conclusion that he's going to flip. I don't have any particular insight as to whether he stays or goes to MSU. Just commenting on the tone of the article.

I don't see how he's playing anybody. It's not like his spot could go to someone else. He either shows up this summer or doesn't.

I agree Kristy. I swear some of these guys act like jilted lovers over losing a recruit or if a committed recruit visits another school. It's a big decision for these players and more information is always better.

This will be his 3rd decision. Can't be too hard.

MSU just added a late signee to their class in Powers Warren, a TE from IMG. He was prepared to be a preferred walk on at UT, but obviously took the full ride.

Don't know how that affects their roster numbers.

Nashville is a great city. By scenery, I was referring to the attractivess of the female undergraduate population. I think Vandy and State are towards the bottom in the SEC.

So you believe that there is a negative correlation between attractiveness and intelligence. Or in Vandy's case, maybe snotty brats are unattractive no matter how they look.

I'm not concerning myself with it, but I cannot stand how recruits play the game nowadays. I get enjoying the recruiting process, but once you commit you need to know that you are done. When you give your word you need to mean it. Now Wiggins might know that he is a Vol and the trip to MSU was really just for fun, but it seems not informing the coaches and stuff is alarming.

Even with all of this unnecessary drama, I still think he ends up a Vol. He loved Knoxville, thinks running through the T is the coolest entrance in football, early playing time, and AK was a big influence on him.

Jeff Francoeur was on ATL radio earlier and the commitment process was something they talked about. He was either a 4 or 5* when he came out of Parkview for football and was heavily recruited. He said he had his first three visits set up and his first was Clemson. He loved it so much he committed then and called the coaches for his next two visits and told them he wouldn't be coming. He never considered visiting anywhere else once committed and told other coaches to stop calling.

And then never played a down of football. :w00t:

I remember the old Newburg show where he had Francoeur as a top prospect. He committed to Clemson and Newburg said it didn't matter where he committed because he knew he would be a 1st round baseball pick and college football was never looked upon as an option.

If he leaves there and doesn't commit there I think he will be a VOL!!!! He is gonna be a VOL!!!!GBO!!!!

I might agree with this, if you can tell me that there is never going to be a situation where a coach that accepts a commitment from a player, waits until 1 month before signing day and tells said player that he is better off exploring other options.

We are all smart enough to know that both situations happen all the time. Neither is going to change. I am just no tinto blaming a player for deciding to take a free trip to a school to make sure that he made the right decision, yet applauding a coach when does the same thing.
