I thought that he played pretty good too, considering that he is a true freshman playing his first significant snaps on the road against the #5 team in the country. He will only get better. The bye week comes at a good time for us to make some changes in defensive personnel. Leave Brewer on the sidelines, except for coming in as the nickel backer or some type of role like that. The other thing that I would love to see is Bonner getting some time at cornerback. He may not know all the schemes, but how hard is it to say that your job is play man to man on this receiver. JH and DR nicknamed him glue for a reason. After yesterday's game it is pretty obvious that I don't believe that we could give up anymore big plays with some of these young athletes on the field versus what we are playing. Obviously, experience isn't helping. We need some guys that will play fast and has some recovery speed and are PHYSICAL...am tired of seeing us jump on someone's back and ride them down or dive at their ankles. That's what I loved about McNeil...he came up and hit Gurley. Deliver the hit...don't wait and take the hit. Proud of our guys' resiliency! We finally played a big game all 4 quarters and overcame A LOT of adversity in a hostile environment with a chance to win the game late. Can't ask for much more from our guys, except for the next time that we are in this position to pull out the win. We grew up yesterday, even with a horrible defensive performance. GO VOLS!!!
