You've also got to think about the fact that Cobb went to UK with a huge chip on his shoulder believing he deserved a UT offer. , Without that drive, he may have never become the player he turned out to be.

Randall already had the work ethic that has helped him to succeed thus far. I don't think Fulmer or Kiffin would've used him effectively though, if at all.

Bell's Top 7...

Ohio State: "Coach Urban Meyer, his work speaks for itself when he was at the University of Florida and he's going to bring that to Ohio State.

Georgia: Coach Mark Richt, he's a good guy. They won the SEC East and he's on the right path to that and bringing in a top class.

Alabama: National champions. Coach Nick Saban knows what he's doing and he's always about business and everything.

Tennessee: They're just a traditional school. They're always trying to get back to the old Tennessee and get the fans involved and the community involved.

Vanderbilt: With Vandy, coach (James) Franklin is going to turn that around. They went to a bowl game and everything.

Texas: They get their players from mostly within the state so when you get recruited that means you're really something.

Clemson: They're still on that road to a national championship and they're bringing in good players.

"It's about the coaches, the bond, the fit and that feeling. The bond with your fellow teammates that come in with you and how you work out with them. And the ones that are already going to be up there with you. It's really about the people more than anything," Bell offered. "The coaches are going to do their part, that's what they get paid for. But you've really got to watch everything to make sure the coaches job is going in the right direction and everything. Those are the key factors right there that are going to matter."

Subliminal message?

I saw this discussed a little earlier but it seems to me like Bell is slightly showing his hand here. His quotes sound like he really is interested in UT and wants to have the faith to go with his home state school but he's level-headed enough to know where things stand in terms of our program. I hope we get him, he sounds like a smart fella if nothing else.

The way bell talks in his interviews falls in line with what everyone has been saying. Waiting on how vols do before going public

Why would kids being recruited care about GPA? It's up to each student-athlete to keep their grades up. Lol. Oh and I've personally met football players from Vandy that could barely carry on a conversation, I honestly wondered if they could spell their name correctly, so I'm sure every university has their fare share of DA's.

Which is one of the reasons why Frankie will never be able to maintain any semblance of "success" at Candybelt. Either he'll be looked at as a hot new commodity coach and go to a bigger and better school, or he'll sit there and fester in the cesspool that is Vandy and realize that you can't have the football success that other schools have at Vanderbilt. It simply won't happen.
