i cant believe bells stock plumeted like it did...dude aint even in rivals top 100 anymore....does anyone know whats going onl?...heck 2 weeks ago and he was a top 20 player on rivals...i was just curious why he went from 5 stars to barely 4
I'm pretty sure Vonn Bell was never a RivalsTop100 or 5* prospect on Rivals.com. I could be wrong though.
Bell is/was rated much higher on Scout.com and 247 so that may be what you are thinking of.
Likely to be the top rated player in the class. unless Carl Lawson flips.
247 - 5 star, #2 S, #19 overall
Scout - 5 star, #3 S, # 32 overall
ESPN - 4 star, #5 S, #63 overall
Rivals - 4 star, #13 S, #155 overall
VB is a beast, hope to see him commit to Big Orange Country soon.
Go Vols!
Him and Jason Hatcher would be vols already if Dooley wasn't on the hot seat.
I agree, from everything I've read.
I hope Hart is liberal with the contract extension if Dooley shows up in the first 5 games. I think most of our recruiting woes will go away with a good season and a good contract extension. More than anything, we REALLY need to beat Florida. This is the best matchup with them that we've had in a long time.
It would be purely for recruiting purposes. If Recruit X has concerns about Dooley's job stability, he could say, "I just got an extension. I'll be here for a while."
I doubt any coach would tell a recruit "well yeah he got an extension but they didn't give him a raise, so he's probably gone soon". These coaches are talking to high schoolers, not long term job security analysts.
Exactly.
Opposing coach after good start: Hey the AD gave him a contract extension in name only, but he is still going to be fired.
Most High-School Athletes: Ummmmmmm..... ok?
It's not rocket science....an extension is meaningless without increasing the buyout. Very few of any coaches just leave after their contracts expire, they're either fired or retire or take another position. Opposing coaches are smart enough to convey that idea if they decide to negatively recruit.
