Good lord people step away from the ledge. It's always been the same story for Bell. He's a wait and see guy, and if we have a good season this year, he's ours.

Even if he did silent to OSU, we have the whole season to change his mind. Seeing UT put up 8-9 wins and have a good year it'll be hard for VB to turn down the school he grew up loving and dreaming to play for.

I'm a fan no matter how many wins or who the coach is

Doesn't seem to me that fits the idea of a Vol fan when you wait to see how many wins the team gets

Sounds like an excuse to me

But I'm old school.

Being a fan of a school doesnt mean its the best place for a person to further his education or continue his pursuit of making it to the next level professionally

It's a valid concern when this is a career-influencing decision, especially for the highly rated kids who have a legit shot at the NFL with the right development in college.

People here don't understand that. Blame Dooley because he can't lock-up every top kid who lives in TN. It's the VN way.

It's always interesting to see how people react to bad recruiting news. The same people who were swearing that Hatcher would pick USC just to hold a spot and then wait and see how our season went are the ones saying Bell will do it as well. When Hatcher dogged on UT and us losing to Kentucky when he picked USC, you would think people would stop with their "oh he is a wait and see guy". Kids are not going to sit back and wait to see how UT does. They risk losing an offer or a spot from a school they may like at the current time. People on here can claim the kid is going to wait all they like. The fact that these top recruits are picking other schools shows that the idea of waiting is not accurate.

austin sanders is comfortable with where he is and his coaches etc... , him and Von Bell are two different players, two different positions ...

Von Bell has concerns, Legit concerns that a highly touted recruit should have when it comes to an underachieving team and a staff that just had incredible turnover and is on the verge of being ousted if there is another sub par year

its just insane that "we" act like kids Owe us something just because they are fans of our school

It's July. Verbals this time of year don't mean much these days. Vol fans should know that as well as anybody.

If the "rumor" is true, it is very respectable for both sides that V.Bell is playing out his recruitment to make sure what he is being told isn't all talk like most coaches. When the Vols win 9-10 games he will be in orange. Besides if we go 5-7 again we don't deserve his committment. Most top recruits buy all the BS and commit before they see what the future of the program will hold. Personally, I hate the new trend of committing before the senior season. Normal students don't decide where they are going to attend until January.
