Saying CUM is going to achieve anything close to what he did at UF is pure speculation. He'll have to defeat the SEC teams now anyways.

Given that Urban Meyer has only lost 23 times in 10 years as a head coach makes it hard to believe he wont be successful at Ohio State...

Lol - pretty sure he had to defeat SEC teams when he was at UF.

Point went over your head, or I didn't make it clear. He's playing in the Big 10. He's not going to prepare every week for an SEC schedule any more. There is going to be a talent disparity, IMO. I'm not going to sit here and list several more differences there are when comparing OSU and top SEC schools.

What he did at UF was great. However, I strongly feel he wouldn't be doing that given the state LSU and Bama are in if he were still in the SEC. At any rate, it's still speculation to think he's going to replicate what he did at UF while at OSU (for several reasons as referenced in my previous post)

I never said he wouldn't be successful at OSU. I'm quite sure he will be very successful there.

If he had stayed at UF instead of tuckin his tail, his record wouldn't look so shiny. He is mostly responsible for the mess that the lizards are in now.

It may be speculation but lets review the situation:

1. He's a winning coach
2. He's now in the B1G
3. He's at a historically good football school
4. He inherited a good roster
4. He can recruit

It's hard to pass it off as speculation that he will succeed there. JMHO of course..

how so? I am willing to wager both OSU and Alabama are more successful during his time in college than we will be. And that's not being negative - that's being realistic.

But - either way he's still going to be a Vol barring a major collapse by Dooley this season.

This is the s*** I don't understand from people like you. You claim to be UT fan, you claim to love everything about the University, yet you continue to degrade this University because of your disdain for Dooley and/or admiration for other coaches.

I could give a damn who's coaching this team and what our record is, I will not concede to other Universities because my allegiance to this THIS university is unconditional--that's not blind faith, it's LOYALTY. Whether we're 0-13 or 13-0, I STILL would rather be on the Hill than in Columbus, Tuscaloosa, or Gainesville--no matter what their record is.

...and I don't give a damn what your opinion about that is. Call it whatever you like; sunshine-pumping, ignorance, looking through the world with orange-tinted glasses....don't f'ing care.

I LOVE my alma mater. I love this university. I love our stadium, our history, our traditions, and when I'm in Neyland on Saturday's...I love our fans.

The lack of success we have had of late has beaten me down but I refuse to concede to other school's because their coaches are better.

F them. We are Tennessee. We are the NINTH WINNINGEST PROGRAM EVER.

We will be back, with or without Dooley...although I truly hope it's with him.

Not because I have an undying faith in him but b/c I'd like him to prove the skeptics--like you--wrong. However, if we have to do it with another coach, so be it...so long as we make it back.

Andrew Bone - one of Bama's recruiting guys - said that bama seems to be on the outside looking in. And that Bell will likely either choose UT or Ohio state. Just another expert that must be wrong huh?

What the hell are you talking about? I'm not a true fan just because I'm not stupid enough to realize both these programs are in better hands and better position to win big over the next 4 years than we are?

It's called being realistic. Take off your orange sunglasses once in awhile and be objective.

1. You'd be hard pressed to find a program with more defensive back starters in the NFL than Tennessee. 2. Name a defensive back at the other schools listed that has had a DB taken higher than us recently in the draft.

Those are all under different coaches though. To this point Saban has put the most DBs into the NFL.

Although if I were Bell - being the big UT fan that he is - I would come here regardless of whether Dooley might get let go or not... Because if he doesn't then he's winning obviously... And if he is let go that means we finally will get a qualified guy in place to take us where we want to go with Hart leading the way rather than Hamilton. Win win for a Vol fan as he claims to be.
