Those are all under different coaches though. To this point Saban has put the most DBs into the NFL.

Although if I were Bell - being the big UT fan that he is - I would come here regardless of whether Dooley might get let go or not... Because if he doesn't then he's winning obviously... And if he is let go that means we finally will get a qualified guy in place to take us where we want to go with Hart leading the way rather than Hamilton. Win win for a Vol fan as he claims to be.

You sure are making a lot of predictions there Miss Cleo.

I have an idea. Stop responding and quoting Bassman.

He has a personal opinion and his right to it. I prefer to keep him on ignore so I don't have to read whiny posts all the time.

How did I make a prediction? Pretty sure I laid out two different, very generic scenarios - Dooley wins and stays... Dooley doesn't win and is replaced. Not sure where the prediction is. In the first Bell gets to play for the guy he committed to - in the second he plays for a more qualified coach that can hopefully get it done.

You predicted Hart will bring in a great coach. And you predicted OSU and Bama will be in better hands for next 4 years. So you must be able to see into the future.

Yeah - I am using the crystal ball I purchased from the common sense section of best buy.

Hart won't hire a low budget guy if Dooley doesn't win just to hope to try to find a diamond in the rough like Hamilton aimed to do with literally almost every hire.

Most of those guys Saban has coached would have been in the NFL had they played at Shelton State Community College. With or without Saban LSU has continued it's run as "DBU". Am I saying that he isn't an excellent evaluator of talent or defensive back guru? Hell no. But, I think it must be noted that he's had his fair share of 4*/5* busts in the defensive backfield recruiting as well..B.Scott, Fulton, T.Dixon, A. Lawrence ...

My point is that it's easier to put more DBs in the NFL when you have more talent readily available and can afford busts like those above and are able to be successful.

Really admire Saban's ability to hide his DB's weaknesses and put them in positions to be successful. It's something that Sal brought with him and has done really well thus far.

Well you can say that about any talented player - but recruits and families will still look at that stat even though it's not as important as they make it out to be. It's far more important to that 3* caliber player that Saban has done a great job of transforming into an NFL player while coaching.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm not a true fan just because I'm not stupid enough to realize both these programs are in better hands and better position to win big over the next 4 years than we are?

It's called being realistic. Take off your orange sunglasses once in awhile and be objective.

My outlook on this program is every bit as objective as your's claim to be, I just refuse to kneel at the alter of Saban or Meyer and concede recruits based upon the perception and/or outlook of our program.

Do I blame recruits for going there? Absolutely not, but where a recruit chooses to go to college has MORE to do with the coach and wins and losses. It is every bit based upon the sentiments that I have mentioned as it is to the coach, their pedigree, the history and tradition of the program, the previous 5 years, and the outlook of the program over the next 3-5 years.

I never said that Dooley was a better coach.
I never said the state of our program was in better shape.
I never said our next four years will be better than...anyone's.

You have a right to the opinion that a player would be better off going to OSU or UA or UF or...fill in the blank.

...and I have the right to say I don't f'ing understand how you can claim to be a UT fan, yet advocate for recruits to go elsewhere.

And like I said before, you can call me a sunshine pumper, ignorant, blind. You can tell me to take off the orange shaded glasses.

I. Don't. Care.

I refuse to look at our situation over the last half decade and throw up my arms and say "I give up! Go ahead recruits...go to Oregon. Go to Ohio State. Go to Florida. Go to Alabama. We've given up at UT. We have nothing to offer!"

F. THAT.

You call it realism. I call it concession.

Where have I said I think Bell should go to bama or OSU? Good luck finding it because I didn't. If his only focus on making a college selection is winning big (national championships) - which it isn't - then we aren't in the best position to land him.

It all stemmed from vollys sunshine pumping post saying Bell would be missing out on something absolutely special if he didnt come here.. as if we were going to out perform those two programs over the next 4 years which is highly doubtful even from some of the biggest sunshine pumpers here.

Never said you did, I said you "advocate" for recruits to go elsewhere b/c you believe our next 4 years will pale in comparison to Meyer's or Saban's...etc.

Perhaps they will, perhaps they won't...but that doesn't mean they won't miss out on something special at UT.

Something special at UT would be winning a national championship. My faith isn't that great in Dooley.

I doubt Manning will look back on his career at UT and say it wasn't special. Sure, he'll wish he could have beaten Florida and won a NC, but that doesn't mean it wasn't one of the best times in his career.

Ok if we replicate Mannings 4 years over the next 4 years I will build an alter dedicated to Dooley in my closet.

What you do in your closet is your business...I don't want to hear about it.

..and if we replicate Manning's 4 years over the next four years, you won't have to build an altar--our fans and the media will do that for you.

And you'll love every second of it.

Can't believe folks still quote that clown. What's the point? Let him be miserable all by himself.

And Btw, Vonn Bell is going to be a Vol. Don't listen to the nonsense saying otherwise.

No doubt,Ron..He is on my ignore list for a reason.

Oh yeah and IMO,Bell will be ALL VOL!!

People really think in a fantasy world on here if I was a top guard in the country for basketball and I was from Tenn would I go to UT or UK !? Lets be realistic if you were wanting to a pro career you can over look your childhood dreams for a place with stability nobody ever imagines that they will get the opportunities that they get when they are young any way? Vonn Bell was not at UTK fan when he was younger he was a UT Longhorns fan! They came from Dallas to Chattanooga! I been knowin him and his older bro since they moved to TN
