1) J3 and Stokes never played together. J3 has always been at Southwind and Stokes transferred to Southwind but never played a game there.

2) J3 and Stokes DO NOT LIKE EACH OTHER. They will not be attending the same college - 100% fact.

3) J3 is an interesting case. A lot given early, very little earned, and now he's slipped to the 3rd best player in the city and maybe lower. Despite what the rankings say, J3 has major bust potential. People were enamored with him early because of the height/ballhandling combination but guys have started to pass him by. He's got a softness issue and has often been injured or chosen not to compete when given the opportunity. I'm not sure he's going to be good enough for Kentucky when it's all said and done. His performance next summer on the AAU circuit will tell the story.

That's funny - considering JW3 invited Stokes to his birthday bash last year.

I find this strange as well. Not saying it isn't true, but why transfer to a school (Southwind) and compete with a guy who plays the same position if you weren't, at the very least, cordial with him?

Stokes and Williams played AAU together.. The only reason why Stokes attended Southwind was due to the fact he was supposed to be attending Oak Hill academy but something happened..

I am fully aware of why he transferred, but if you're going to transfer, why pick a school that currently has someone on roster at your position that you don't get along with? He could have gone anywhere.

They would have probably played JW3 at Center and Stokes at PF?

Well, yes they could have both still played, but my point is more about transferring to a school and playing with a guy you allegedly don't like.

Me either until humdinger laid down the belief that there was some riff between the two. Thus my question, if a riff exists, and there is no way they would ever attend the same college, why would they decide to attend the same high school?

OP/Mod can you put this on the first page...

Strengths:
Williams is a rare combination of length and skill that reminds many of a young Lamar Odom. At 6'7 and left-handed, Williams possesses a tremendous handle and feel for the game. Like Odom, Williams could be considered a point forward that can initiate offense or take the ball off the glass and lead the break. His energy and constant activity on both ends of the floor is a thing of beauty. He is more than capable of breaking down his defender in a one-on-one situation to create a shot for himself. Once he has his defender on his heals he has a nice step-back jump shot from behind the arc. Williams is a competitor who handles adversity well and keeps his cool in games.

Weaknesses:
A more consistent stroke from three will enhance his overall game because of his ability to handle the ball. Although he plays the game on the perimeter, Williams needs to develop some type of game around the rim in order to take advantage of mis-matches when smaller defenders are assigned to him because of his ability on the floor. Injuries seem to curtail him from being the best he can be. He is slight built and gets knocked around in the post from time to time. Adding strength to his frame would be a major plus for his development.

Bottom Line:
When he is healthy his production level is phenominal, as seen by his being named to the USA U16 squad this past summer (2011). He struggles with nagging injuries that keep him sidelined for periods of time. Williams is ultra capable with his length and skill level. He can score inside with quickness and his ability to use both hands and will step out and knock down the jumper if left open. He runs the floor and can lead the break with his handles or make the correct pass, once his strength catches up he could be a pro.

Stokes was friends with Blake Johnson Centrals pg he went to Southwind, then Stokes tried to go to Oakhill but didn't so he tried to join his buddy blake at Southwind.

You like big sf apparently? This kid will most likely play pf in college, much like Tobias or Tyler smith type.

I'm of the opinion that the more size you put out there the better. Especially if a kid has been described as having a good perimeter game.

Strengths: "Reminds many of a young Lamar Odom."

Yes f'in please.

i think ccm likes the amaller quicker lineups with his aggresive defense those are usually the players that fit that system best. then again if you can get guys athletic enough 6'7" can be a force on the defensive end at sf if they are quick enough, see kidd-gilchrist. theres nothing wrong with the big sf they just will have to be very athletic and quick to play the defense that ccm wants.

yea that lamar odom comparison was pretty exciting to hear.
