If anyone wants the full post concerning Williams from VQ...

Moving on towards some other positive buzz, we've been picking up more and more lately that? the Vols are more serious players for Memphis prospect John Williams III than ourselves and others have given them credit for to date. Williams hasn't given much away in terms of where he's leaning, but at least for now, Tennessee, from what we're hearing, is making itself a factor. We've consistently maintained that the Vols would be 'involved,' to the point that we've said we expected Williams to at least officially visit in the fall. Lately though we're picking up rumblings that Tennessee may be positioning itself to be more than just a semi-contender in the race. Much could depend on whether Williams III emerges from July with some elite offers (such as Kentucky). For now though, we're feeling that Tennessee has enhanced its chances considerably in the last month or so. Definitely worth watching going forward.

Just like Nichols and Hubbs to Florida since they played for M33M???

If lucky, UT might sign 1 of the 4. JWIII ship sailed a long time ago, as for Nichols the rumor is it's narrowed down to UVA and Duke (academics). UT and Memphis are included on his short list because he doesn't want any negative feedback from state media outlets.

You sir are clueless, enough said.

And who's the 4th, Nichols, jw3 and Hubbs??? Crawford or newkirk were you referring to?

I'm still wondering what happened to you calling Hubbs and Nichols to UF since they both played for M33M???

He's just spouting off what he's been reading on memphistigers.org. :eek:lol:

JW3 has had a great few weeks. The biggest knock on him has been that he is thin and soft. He's put weight on lately (read: muscle) and he's playing a more physical brand of ball. He may jump Nick King for highest rated player in state.

I'd always assumed that he's headed to UK (same with Leron Black), and I haven't paid too much attention to his recruitment.

If Hubbs and Nichols sign with UT then ill leave this site for good, but I've got nothing to worry about because CCM can't recruit.

Wait...I thought they were both signing with Florida? How about if they don't sign with Florida you leave the site?

Hell I'm not worried though cause no matter who Donovan gets he can't beat Tennessee.

He has definitely struggled with Tennessee. Last year, in fact we beat them without Stokes. And even with Stokes he only played 12 mins in the game in Gainesville. It has been a struggle for them against the Vols.

Being rumored Tennessee is definitely in his top 3, good news. However, it seems UK definitely is also, but they've yet to offer.

This is a situation where we hope some other bigs they've offered commit to UK before jw3 does. If they land a couple commits jw3 may possibly cool on them, or they may cool on him.

Is Cal going to offer?

The only offers Cal has on the table currently (that I know of) are Jabari Parker, Julius Randle, Andrew & Aaron Harrison, Aaron Gordon and James Young. Young being the most recent offer. Others are being recruited but not sure that any more offers are forthcoming until some of these are off the board.

hmmm. Well well......

this should be interesting. I don't see JW3 going to Lexington though. Without reading back (if it was posted) how much contact has Cal had with him?

There has been contact, but not a ton. Cal came to visit both JW3 and Leron Black a few months ago. It's not so much the attention from Cal that spurs these rumors though. It's the adoration that JW3 is rumored to have for Cal.

If I had to guess, I'd say Cal is interested, especially with these new reports of physicality from JW3. He'll have the kid hold off on his commitment anywhere until May or June next season when he knows who is leaving UK, then maybe make an offer.

Some good news:

Apparently Rob Lewis from VQ feels we are a major player for Williams. Also, rumors (mostly here) say we are a serious factor. Adding him and Nichols would be awesome.

The thought of adding 3 "Memphis" guys, in hubbs, Nichols and jw3 is one class is crazy. Bring them in and keep stokes, and you have 4 very good menphis kids on the roster, not sure I thought I'd ever see that.

That would really open up the pipeline into Memphis IMO, we're already seeing the effects of just stokes being here. If we can have a great year, beat Memphis, and hopefully pastner underachieves again, the door may be wide open to Memphis.

Hubbs: This kid is from Dyer County, no one considers Newbern, TN to be Memphis. Most Memphians have never heard of Newbern, TN or have any idea what area of the state it's located in.

Nichols: private school kid from Eads (Memphis suburb; cruise around Germantown or Bartlett and ask the residents if they consider themselves to be Memphians).

JWIII: he's a Memphian
