#Vols 4-star DL commit Jason Carr says he is 65/70 percent committed. Will visit #OleMiss tomorrow and probably #Alabama on Sunday
whats with the 70% committed crap? you're either committed or not. kids these days.. damn.
Man I hope we can hold on the this guy. He's the best player in the state IMO (or at least right there with Ramsey and Bell) and at a position of huge need. Has a great chance for early playing time if he can learn the play book.
I'm generally against the defeatist attitude but this could be a bad weekend for us. We have 2 elite Dlinemen in state that very well could go elsewhere. We know that our state is not known for the D1 football talent like other places so I can understand his frustration.
Heard this from someone else last night. Are you really just going off of a "good feeling" or do you know something?
And spare me the whole "he's just a kid enjoying this once in a lifetime opportunity" argument.
I understand that stance but then don't commit. Enjoy the process as an uncommitted prospect. But once you commit be committed.
So you're against the coaches going after prospects committed to other schools as well?
You guys need to stop. All this he shouldn't have committed stuff is crazy. Our coaches just should've stayed on Carr like he wasn't committed. That seems like the problem here. We also need to win so Freeze and others can't pull the "Dooley will be gone" card.

As far as us needing to win of course we hope to win this year. And it will help recruiting - ESP with UNcommitted prospects. Nothing has changed with our w/l record since he committed to us has it? When he committed we were still 11-14 the last two seasons. So why should winning this yr matter here?
And as far as our coaches staying on him you don't think they did/do? But besides that this is part of my original point -- it has to be frustrating to have to continuously "babysit" someone who has given you their commitment.
Edit: why should w/l record matter RIGHT NOW with Carr. Nothing has changed since he committed to us. Now if we go 4-8 next yr I could more see him being a little antsy
