'13 TN DE Jason Carr (UT signee)

And man i am soooo ready for some football!!!

Luckily I have the birth of a daughter coming up to take up some of the time. Then fall camp soon after

Oh And NCAA on ps3. #nevergrowup

Because coaches are saying Dooley won't be here(Freeze I bet). Kids think a lot about this stuff. We need to start playing football soon.

100% agree. But hopefully the "he won't be your coach" technique backfires on them,,oh,,,let's say late October this coming fall.:good!:

Just saw where this guy is second guessing his commitment to TN. Although I understand how important of a decision it is to choose a university to attend, I think they need to keep their commitment after they commit. He should've waited to commit to TN after he visited other schools. Instead, he shook our coaches hands and commited, and is now wavering upon that commitment.

When did a handshake/commitment stop meaning anything to these kids.

This is part of the massive hypocrisy of most of our fanbase -- it is a "terrible thing" when a recruit even considers wavering on his commitment, but in the same breath we rationalize that it is ok when our coaches "suggest" to a committed player (VFL, no less) that he might should "look around" because because we are about to recruit over him. These recruits see Tennessee, Alabama, and some other high profile football programs going back on their word whenever they want to replace a committed player just because they have found someone they like better. The natural result is that the recruits feel free to do the same.

Despite protestations and convoluted rationalizations to defend the practice, there is no difference between when a recruit changes his mind and when the coach changes his mind -- both are equally guilty of breaking their word and neither Dooley nor our fanbase has any room to complain when a committed recruit changes his mind.

Dooley (and by extension, UT) is not a man of his word, despite what they profess to teach in the Vol for Life program. I am very much a supporter of Dooley as our coach, but cannot support him in this practice -- it has come back to haunt us in the recruiting process and will continue to do so.

New article on 247, doesn't sound very good. Mark Dodson is really recruiting Carr & Reeves-Maybin to join him at Ole Miss. Carr said he was very impressed by his visit to Ole Miss yesterday & liked everything about it. He said he would consider himself a Tennessee commitment still but Ole Miss is right behind.

IMO, Carr doesn't end up a Vol.

First off, it has not come back to hirt us so quit making BS up in order to try and make a point. Secomd of all people complaining about both sides in general need to give it a rest, col.ege football is a buisness and will continue to be treated that way. If a recruit gets a new offer, they have every right to to look into it just like an employee that was offered a new job would. The same goes for if a recruit does not live up to his end of the bargain (Cross's Senior film was not impressive, Redding was/is in real danger of qualifying, or Henderson who was not putting on the desired weight) the coaches can get get rid of him like an employer would do to an underperforming employee. We are talking about high school seniors, and a lot changes during the course of the time they are comitted. Some get better and earn better offers and some regress in the eyes of the coaches, neither side should be stuck into this commitment.

You didn't think McNeil ended up a Vol either. We win we'll seal the deal on this kid too. Not worried because Ole Miss will be terrible this year.

Ole Miss will be lucky to go 6-6 this year. Away games at Bama, LSU, UGA. Home games against Texas, A&M, Auburn. Whoever put Texas on their schedule is an idiot.

They would be very lucky to win 6. They are probably looking at 4-8.

Agreed. I'm thinking they have a 3-7 or 4-8 season in store. They face many of the same problems they faced last year as well as several academic casualties, a poor recruiting class and a new coach trying to implement a new system.

We should just start saying "Freeze won't be there by your senior year. No one wins at Ole Miss."

They play Texas Texas? Man they are going to have a lot of injuries after they play a few of those teams
