'13 TN OT Christian Morris

Want, want, want! It wasn't a hard call, but a lot of us could feel his lerking interest in the Vols. Ya'll know how much I love an instate talent. This is a very telling sign of where the staff feels we stand with Skipper. Personally I'd chose Morris over Skipper anyways. Keep Tennessee talent in Tennessee, there is no reason this kid should be announcing UCLA during the NFL pregame.

Agreed. If Skipper is waffling on his decision, take the instate kid and call it a day.

UCLA is sure stocking up on guys for the OL in this class. They currently have 3 OG's, 3 OT's and 1 C committed. They can leave Morris for us and still be happy. Stay home Christian, that left coast is overrated anyways. :)

Just watched his rivals video from yesterday with Farrell. No way this kids isn't a Vol if he's shown the love on his OV. It's obvious he wants to be a Vol.

He said Coach Elder recruited him to Cincy recently and he called him shortly after being hired at UT and told him he really wants him to be a Vol.

I may be mistaking Morris for someone else but I think he may have not gotten an offer because there is a question in his work ethic? Is he the one that half assed at camp and also is known to take plays off during games?

Not sure but I do know he had a bad camp at UT and after that the old staff stopped recruiting him. He mentioned that in the video, something like.."The old staff may have not wanted me but the new staff does."

Yea really not sure where I read that so I could be wrong. Also looking through this thread I noticed Montrell was a common poster. Wonder why he dropped off since October would love to hear his insight on Jones.

Both of these statements are accurate. Camp performances were disappointing outside of the kid that committed to Cincinnati. Reagan didn't impress. Given the fact that we already have Sanders, Kendrick, and Koehler, we can be picky with out last scholarship or two on the OL.

Here is one quote shortly after camping.

Morris has been all over the place. He is a good prospect but he isnt near as far along as he and/or his handlers believe. In watching his tap, he could likely play football at a fairly high level in college but he needs a bunch if work... footwork not all that, needs to get stronger, needs to finish plays and play every play to the whistle among other things.

This might be one you were thinking of.

Feedback from Rivals at The Opening:

9. OL Christian Morris, Memphis (Tenn.) Memphis East: Morris is a big kid with a really nice frame to add weight and he showed nice arm extension and good footwork on the outside. He engaged after his initial slide out of his stance and did a good job steering defenders where they didn't want to go because of his length and use of arms. He needs to get stronger, but he has a lot of intangibles.

:good!:

Bull market

This award goes to the player who raised his stock the most from the camp and that would have to be Memphis (Tenn.) Memphis East offensive tackle Christian Morris. Morris has great size, long arms and he uses both to ride players to the outside. But what's really impressive is how he moves his feet to handle inside pass rushers. A mid-level three star right now, that will be changing. - RIVALS

:good!:

We will see just how good he is this week & coming weekend, he will be going against some of the best competition at the AA game.
