'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

OK, let's try this. For those of you who have seen him in person or on film, would it be accurate to say that Green does not have that rare blend of size, speed and power that Jamal Lewis possessed? If so, who does Green most closely resemble among recent Tennessee backs? Jay Graham, perhaps, or Travis Henry?

Graham.

Considering that Jay amassed 1,438 yds. rushing and 12 tds. in 1995, and 2,609 yds. and 25 tds. career, I believe that I could live with that. Of course, Jay had much better overall supporting cast, although there was a significant dropoff in offensive line play from 1995 to 1996.

has anyone heard anything more on just how serious this miami deal is? all i've heard is he likes them and they're somewhere in the running now

That would mesh with the comments about academic prestige, but not with depth chart (with a sophomore 5-star on the roster), or the gameday atmosphere (with over 100 of your closest fans in attendance).

i was kind of curious about the playing time thing too but i don't recall if it's he wants to be the starter day 1 or just be able to play quite a bit. just think about if he plays as well in college as everyone expects and then have both of those guys in the backfield, especially in the ACC, they might both have 1000 yards

so i'm going to assume by real conference you mean SEC so let's take a look. UM is all time 13-5-1 against your "real" conference, a winning percentage of 71%. if that's too broad for you let's go to BCS era where they are 6-2, 75%,still a winning record.

while we're there, let's look at UT record against the big ten, overall 8-4, a winning percentage of 66%. BCS era has UT vs big ten at 2-1, still 66%.

anything else you'd like cleared up for you?

I have not made one comment after reading many of your comments the last few days. What is clear to me is you are nothing but a stinking POC Michigan fan who is bringing nothing to this board but freaking crap. Shut up unless you can actually bring info on DG instead of just trashing our program with your sly and not so sly jabs. If you played year in and year out right now in the SEC, you would get the crap beat out of you like Ohio State presently does to you.

I haven't been reading this guys posts but is he trying to argue that the Big 10 is on par with the SEC these days?

BCS started in '98. SEC has won 8 times, including the last 6. And UT won the first BCS title. The Big 10 has only played in the title game 3 times, OSU each time, and lost twice. Michigan has been irrelevant for a long time, longer than UT.

Sounds like a losing argument for the wolverine fan.

Not to mention the one time OSU won wasn't it due to a late/questionable PI call?

ron, i've always enjoyed your posts so i have no intention of getting things stirred up again but just in response to this that was all in a response to that UM could never survive against SEC competition. the information i provided was the only information i could find to support or discount the claim. it was never about one conference compared to another
