OK, well it begins and ends with coaches in college football. If the last 3 years didnt teach you that then you weren't paying attention.

UT can succeed again like it did before with the right coaches.

Its not just about this recruit. Its about recruiting as a whole. I will never stop being a Vol fan. Way to committed.

he became our coach after everybody was already committed or knew where they were headed. hes having to steal everybody away which isnt an easy task. give the dude time before you bash him.

I don't even know what you're argument is now? You're mad that Butch isn't pulling recruits like Kiffin and Dooley did but you also say production on the field is what's most important. You're contradicting yourself. Kiffin's class imploded and Dooley never produced.

Dude you guys need to chill out on the coaches. Especially you MWA. I don't see what you guys are so impressed with,in Green. Jamal Lewis and Travis Henry weren't the number 1 back either. Green may go on to have a great career, or he may be the ultimate bust. Who knows. Anyone remember the guy Uga passed on Lewis for ? Lol amazing isn't it?

I disagree, I would bet if they had a second tier HC instead of a big time, national championship very high winning percentage they wouldvnotvasvattractive to recruits.

He's talking in circles and making himself look like a clown. The easiest and best option is to ignore until he proves he can rationally put together a string of thoughts without making himself look like an ass.

First off, getting so upset about one recruit is a little much...even if he is the #1 ranked RB.

But whose responsibility is it to get kids to UT if not the coaches???

Also, every list that has been posted on VN of who we will get is far-fetched. This happens EVERY single recruiting season.

Getting only Lawson and North out of the lists would be impressive imo...

I'll say I was disappointed on Green not coming here, but not entirely surprised. Michigan was his leader pretty much the whole way..and us having undergone yet another coaching change despite retaining JG still put us behind the 8 ball was and was a strike against us. You never know what can happen with these kids--I wish D Green the best...the bottom line is that Butch came in here late. I'm not going to act like this was the biggest setback we've ever had recently. You can't really be disappointed in something you never had to begin with..Michigan is farther along than us..Hoke has pretty much been confirmed as the "right guy" for this job. Interestingly enough it took Michigan only 1 coaching change after Carr to get it right. We're still in that process...we give Butch a year to see if he can maximize talent and show us something. I'm not giving up on this recruiting class either...still expecting Butch to close with some great prospects. We'll see what happens...

Well obviously if they had Butch Jones they wouldn't be as attractive as they are with Urban. Doesn't change the fact that they could still recruit like hell. If they had gone through the past 10 years in our shoes they would be having a difficult time. But they haven't.

Didn't think he would come here n we have to wait until nsd to see if these guys can recruit. Anything less than top 15 is missing the mark.. recruiters can recruit n that's the bottom line. So nsd will tell us a lot IMO..

ok i know this is going to sound like bashing and me trying to stir something up but i promise it's not. this is not meant negative towards anyone or any program and it's not me trying to gloat either i've just heard this so much over the past couple of months i can't hold it in any longer.

current precedent is that if you want to play for a NC you go to alabama, maybe even lsu or auburn, not the SEC as a whole. a NC may not happen at UM but by your theory he could have went to kentucky and had a better chance at a NC than at michigan. having the best team, probably even top 2 teams in the country, in your conference doesn't automatically mean it's the best conference. how could the best conference in football have two teams that didn't even win a game last year? if NC is what DG was after logic would have put him at alabama
