'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

My biggest issue with DG was it appears he's just been stringing UT along when we could have been focusing more attention on other backs. It's been pretty clear to me he selected MI weeks ago. I don't wish him good or bad luck. To me he doesn't exist since he's not a VOL.

Anyway good luck to Green. All the luck to Michigan in the quest for a crystal ball. Hopefully we see ya there in a couple years

Say what? Go to Michigan and play in front of one of the best crowds every week. Rose Bowl possible virtually every year. Or go to UT and watch them try and rebuild what they had 15 years ago. Music City Bowl more realistic in the next 4 years, maybe.

Do you really think he made the wrong decision?

I think Meyer and OSU will own MI. JMO tho.

No he made the right decision. If you're scared to play with the big boys then the Big 10 is easily the right decision over the SEC

2014, Tennessee vs Michigan - Outback Bowl

Derrick Green carries up the middle and gets BLASTED by Vols Sophomore Carl Lawson. Green's helmet goes flying, the ball comes loose, and Lawson reaches down and palms the football for a recovery.

Good luck DG, enjoy the weather.

WRONG!! Dooley had 3 weeks before NSD when he was hired. He got Da'Rick Rogers 5*, James Stone *4 star, and Justin Hunter *4 star in that little time, all will have NFL careers. Butch Jones was hired first week of December, he's had close to two months.

Dooley was just a terrible game manager, Butch Jones could still finish strong, no need to hit the panic button. Your statement about "More time" was false though.

Dooley also benefited from a still strong Tennessee brand - a brand that he severely weakened for Butch.

Sounds like a real fan - of Michigan.

Ridiculous!

So you think playing a soft schedule and a automatic birth to the rose bowl even if they win 7 games next year like Wisconsin Is challenging your delusional. Michigan isn't all that our team this year would have had a good record with that schedule.

Play in the best conference in college football or the patsy Big 10? Guess he wasn't ready for big time football.

UM could easily run the table beat OSU and be in the title game very soon imo

with the OL's their bringing in the kid made the right choice imo i dont know if theres been a better group in the 12 and 13 recruiting classes

If you really believe that, i got some ocean front property here in PA i'd love to sell you..

Brady Hoke is one losing season from being on the Proverbial Hot Seat. He went from an 8 win season to a soft schedule 10 win team on to a mediocre season this year. The guy isn't a great coach, solid yes. He won't last at Michigan. Plus Rich Rod recruited most of the players in the upper class. Lets see where he is after this year.

This is Hokes second season as HC 10 win season was his first, 8 win season this past year and he done it all with the same kids Rich rod went 7-6 with in 2010.
This past season very few of Hokes recruits played and that was mostly on defense
While im not completely sold on Al Borges well see what he does with 5 star QB Shane Morris
I am however sold on what Greg Mattison can do with the defense
I loved watching Denard but he was no QB and cost us some games we should of won last season( ND and Nebraska) after he went down we had to turn to a guy that had played WR all season and wasnt even taking snaps at QB, I think Devin is the real deal at QB
Our run game suffered because of a terrible oline and our #1 back going down, the oline problem has been fixed
it wasnt many years ago we were contending until the RR experiment, I hope we get back to that very soon
Michigan and OSU are doing what they need to the rest of the B1G has to catch up

I'm not against Butch Jones and I still think he can finish strong. So i'm not trying to sound negative or act like the sky is falling, but Kiffin just bolted for USC, NCAA sanctions were hanging over our head, we didn't have the new facilities yet either. Dooley's situation was not much if any better than Jone's IMO.

Jones could still get some recruits like Dooley did though, we're still in on some high caliber guys.

Hardly. But I am a bit more of a realist than many posters who just don't get it when it comes to Tennessee football. We are not what we used to be and don't have the staff or players in place to get there again. Kids will go where they think they can win and show off their stuff. For Green, it was a pretty easy decision.
