'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Forgive me for interrupting, but I'm trying to follow. So what you're saying is Alabama and Auburn wouldn't offer the kid, so we do and he accepts/commits. By what you're saying is he did this with the only thought in his mind being "I'll commit to UT now, for absolutely no reason, and then I'll flip if an Alabama school offers?"

I think that's highly unlikely considering the depth Bama has and the commits they have already this year. He was also quoted saying "If I can't play with Alabama or Auburn, then I'm going to play against them." Those don't sound like words of a kid who's sitting around waiting on an offer to flip. JMO.

What did Powell do ? Committed to us, waited for the Miami offer then bailed.

Bryant has grade issues, Saban won't take him unless he knows he is in order. He is an elite LB prospect and is rated low because of his grades. I wasn't the first one to say that and won't be the last.

Bama will have their LB class locked up before his grades are in. They're in on quite a few good LBs as well. Somebody good wants to play LB for Saban.

Powell got the Miami offer months ago.

He won't be a take for Alabama. They are holding one spot for McMillon.

He hinted the door might still be open if Alabama or Auburn was to come in an offer him, but otherwise said he was still firmly committed to the Vols.

Before everyone starts freaking out over this, this is coming from an Alabama news website so it's going to be slanted toward Alabama schools in order to draw more interest. This kid wasn't quoted as saying this. It sounds like they're just inferring that since he's from Alabama, that the door is still open for the AL schools. Once again, there are no quotes to support this information.

I will feel better about this one as soon as he makes the statement that Tennessee was the school that believed in him and will be the school he is signing with. Maybe the article has a AL lean to it and maybe Bryant made it clear that he was open to an AL school still calling. We'll see I guess.

Yeah me too. I really hope we can hang on to him. He's our most underrated prospects (I know partially due to grade concerns) IMO and is going to be a very good player for us if we can hold on to him.

Bryant and Henderson are probably the 2 most underrated recruits we have imo.

Gavin is our third lowest rated recruit haha. I guess having great size and athleticism while being able to back it up on the football field barely gets you a 3 star

EDIT: on rivals. He is a four on the other three.
