Before everyone starts freaking out over this, this is coming from an Alabama news website so it's going to be slanted toward Alabama schools in order to draw more interest. This kid wasn't quoted as saying this. It sounds like they're just inferring that since he's from Alabama, that the door is still open for the AL schools. Once again, there are no quotes to support this information.
I will feel better about this one as soon as he makes the statement that Tennessee was the school that believed in him and will be the school he is signing with. Maybe the article has a AL lean to it and maybe Bryant made it clear that he was open to an AL school still calling. We'll see I guess.
This is why you continue to recruit the LB position as if you still have one open slot. He seems like he'll jump at the first chance if Bama or Auburn come calling. Only thing is with Bama aren't they full or close to being full at LB for this class?
Bryant and Henderson are probably the 2 most underrated recruits we have imo.

What makes it tough IMO is if the staff finds another top LB who wants to commit, do they try and slow play him to see what happens with Bryant's grades or do they drop Bryant right then and take the other kid? I think Bryant is a top caliber type of LB, but not sure another kid would sit back and wait to see if he qualifies before he would decide to commit elsewhere.
The hope here is that he decides to show AU and UA why they should have believed in him from the start...this kid with a chip on his shoulder could be a fun thing to watch!
I wish he'd do that, but every comment he's made makes it sound to me at least, that he'd jump at either offer. And with the past history with guys from that state I wouldn't feel overly confident with his commitment. That is why from Tennessee's perspective I think you have to continue to look at the LB position as having one open slot left.
Would probably be smart to keep looking at MLB's. I would like to think the coaches know the kids mindset when it concerns a late offer from au or bama. Other sites have made it sound like unless Garrett tried to commit, we would not take any other LBs. Would love for Bryant to make a public statement saying he will stick with the Vols because they did not shy away from taking him early.
Does Bryant's game remind anyone else of Otha Peters? Watching his tape, it reminded me of Peters, only Bryant is bigger. Obviously Bryant is bigger, but he's just as fast and packs a punch. Anyway, that's who I was reminded of watching his film. Hopefully that's the only comparison we'll have to make regarding the recruitment of these two.
Edit: I also like Bryant's game way more. As has been said by many, kid is a stud. One of my favorite players in this class.
I see some similarties between the two but Bryant's game looks better to me than Peters was coming out of HS. He's definitely bigger and looks like he'll be more durable. No question he's very underated by Rivals.
