"Bates had another big night in the Sharks 28-16 loss to Providence as he tallied 18 tackles, three sacks and a blocked punt. Next up is a trip to Clay."

Gaulden calls bates up and says congrats on the 18 tackles. Bates says thanks man, how many did you have this week? "35 ". Bates: "Nah but seriously how many?"

Austin Price has a video interview up on VQ with Bates after his game the other night. Dillon said he will OV to UT for the UGA game. Said his team has a bye week that week so he'll be coming up a few days early and is going to help recruit. He said he wants to help make this class memorable.

Maybe my favorite commit this class. He is so well rounded. He can drop back in coverage. He can rush the passer. Bates is the kind of player who can change a defense

"It's definitely something that always growing up I wanted to do and something I'm happy to do at school," Bates said. "All these things that are connected with football and connected with recruiting are kind of away from school and away from my friends, away from most of my family so I'm happy that this I was able to do at school in front of my classmates and my friends and my teammates and just share that moment with everybody."

"It's definitely very humbling," Bates said. "All of the hard work you've put in; the hours and hours in the weight room, the class room and studying and just trying to better yourself every day and for that final goal of gaining that college scholarship and then exceeding that college scholarship and being the best of the best, that's something that every high school athlete has a goal of."

"I have just twitter messaging and texting a few guys just seeing how they're doing and seeing how their season is gong and letting them know a Tennessee commit is always looking out for them and seeing how they're doing," Bates said. I think that's kind of important to them because it was important to me when I was getting heavily recruited and still deciding if Tennessee was the place for me. I thought that was a big part in my recruiting so I'm just trying to put that forward, too."

He was invited to both Army and Under Armour games and he chose Under Armour. That game is now just as marquee as the Army game. It's a primetime game on ESPN and the kids get to spend the whole week at one of the nicest Disney World resorts and instead of having to practice twice a day like in the Army, they only practice once and are able to go to the parks or have more free time. Plus, instead of 30 or 40-degree weather in San Antonio it's usually 70 and sunny in Orlando.

So, a number of kids with invites to both have chosen more and more the Under Armour game lately.

I go to San Antonio a lot during bowl season and it rarely gets that cold. In fact it's quite warm during the day. I enjoy the city much more than Orlando

I was wondering about that. 30s and 40s seemed a little cold for San Antonio.
