LB Dillon Bates, Ponte Vedra, Fla. (up 26 to No. 41): "Bates has excellent instincts. He's a physical kid who loves to run to the ball and hit and he's excellent in coverage. He was always around the ball during Under Armour week and you could tell how he was diagnosing plays and getting where he needed to be before anyone else." -- Mike Farrell, Rivals.com National Recruiting Director - See more at: Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Rivals100: Valentine tops among biggest movers

Wow, this guy is SO good....basically a third 5* recruit for us. Do not underestimate the value of Bates being a part of this class....he will see the field a lot next year.

Just read this. We need speed at lb. Waiting for Dillon to prove em' wrong

Overrated
Dillon Bates, OLB (Tennessee): "He's a great kid, but he just can't play at the SEC level. He doesn't move at the same speed as guys that are playing at that level."

That's his opinion but he lost all credibility with that statement. Bates is one of the fastest OLB in the country. Hell, alot of analysts think that because of his speed he could play safety in the SEC.

kid moves great laterally and plays fast. Also ran a 4.51 or something at The Opening....complete morons wrote that article.

It's on page 3. They have 5 most overrated and underrated players in the country.

He did say that Hurd is the most underrated back in the country.

Thanks, just read it. Some pretty harsh words, several sound kind of personal to me...

Dillon Bates, OLB (Tennessee): "He's a great kid, but he just can't play at the SEC level. He doesn't move at the same speed as guys that are playing at that level."

Da'Shawn Hand, DE (Alabama): "I don't see him make the same plays that all the great ones make. He'll make some plays, but he'll get lost at times."

Hootie Jones, S (Alabama): "He's the most overrated kid in the state of Louisiana. He can't tackle. He's afraid to tackle. He's a 4.8 speed guy."

Chad Thomas, DE (Miami): "I don't think he's tough and I don't think he loves football. Maybe that will change. He is physically gifted, but if you don't have that burning desire, that's a problem."

Solomon Thomas, DE (Uncommitted): "We were terribly disappointed when we saw him physically. He doesn't have the length. To me, he's just a solid guy. He gets way too much hype for what he actually does on the field."

Lol at this quote, this is hilarious...

"It's f------ nuts. It's barracudas and sharks. No f------ goldfish in this pond."

These were quote from national top recruiters...who happen to go unnamed. Who exactly has lost credibility?

So slow that he has the speed to play Safety.

Yep that article is the complete opposite of what everyone else has said. You don't even have to be an expert to watch him and see speed is one if his strongest assets. That and the ability to read plays and have a nose for the ball. EVERYONE has raved about this, how could he be so far off? He must have him confused with someone else.
