Question for you Mamba (or anyone else who knows) is Jakob more of pass protector or run stopper? What are his strengths and weaknesses (other than just inexperience)?

I'm very excited to see him get his start today. He was one of my faves of this class. :dance2:

to be honest....in germany junior teams got no passing game cause how good could a qb be if he starts throw a football until the age of 12-15 and does it 2 times a week for two hours....i expect jj as a physical run stopper best at the moment. a know he was a ball hawk over here to....but nobody took him to the limit....neither in running nore in passing game. i think the passing game should be the challenge for him in div. 1

Thanks for the info! A run stopper is exactly what we need this game. I know Jakob will make a few mistakes this game but I BELIEVE! :rock:

Also, I have no doubt he's gonna be great in the future - you just don't manage to do what he's done without major, major talent.

Jakob really is the story of this game. For good and bad (nothing Jakob did). Good being his story, his hard work, and how good will he be? The bad is he's replacing our best player on defense because of a sexual assault investigation.

It'll be interesting for sure. We're all rooting for Jakob. He's our future at MLB IMO. Should be pencilled in as the starter next year with a good day today

It's a proud moment for you I'm sure. You have every right to be nervous. Starting as a true freshman in the SEC is a tremendous accomplishment regardless the circumstances why. He will make you proud today!

the circumstances are bad but i hope that aj is not guilty for what he is blamed for....we all know what might happen to kids on the road to success...so i hope things were different like they seeem to be.

but do you know the most ironical story i've ever had ? you know about the penn state problem 2years ago in paternos coaching staff...last year they had a kicker...sam ficken....ask google what ficken means in german...it is soooo ironical !

In all seriousness, Jakob will be fine, imo, and the future with him is soooo bright.
