Urlacher's weight is not against the norm... Go to NFL.com and check LB's weight in NFL it's riddled with 260 plus players. Heck I weigh 253 it's not that big, some people make it sound like you turn into Frankenstein athletically after 230.
That is skewed because the rush LB in a 3-4 is bigger than most DE's.
Robert Mathis, John Abraham, and Ryan Orakpo were 3 ProBowl OLB's in 2014. All came into the league, and 2 were wildly successful, as DE's.
Guys like Kuechly, Posluszny, Derrick Johnson, and Patrick Willis are your top ILB's. All under 250 and most 6'1" or 6'2."

Maggitt is still the SLB, he will just come down in nickel and leave AJJ and JRM as the true LB's in nickel.
Weatherd will play the same role. It is still a LB position.
If you want to get technical, sure, they're still 'backers. But they play the nickel 60-70% of the time. If Maggitt's spending 70% of his snaps at the 9-tech, he's a rush end.
Last year we spent about 40% of snaps in nickel.
I think that number goes up some this year with more confidence in the nickel personnel, but I still think Maggitt will have his hand on the ground < 50% of the time.
