It's not only coaches who may not show their whole hand. Recruits do it too (see VB). The whole thing is a chess match.

Agreed. Honestly, we just need to start adding more positions of need so losing a player at one of our best positions is no big deal. We will be fine at WR. Plus, we are just opening the door for Malone and Lauderdale.

Wish the kid the best. I hope he was being for real with his tweet about the fans. Hopefully, none of you twitter trolls got on there hatin' on an 17-18 yr old kid for changing his mind.


And like it's been said, we will have plenty of great recruits in this class so I am glad we didnt waste a scholarship on someone who wasn't sure they wanted to be here.

Not a big loss...He can easily be replaced...Sad he just doesn't "Get it" however...Good luck elsewhere young man!

Not very enthusiastic about this outcome. I was very excited on Lee becoming a Vol. He could flat-out play. I don't care about his low-star rating or offer list. He appeared to be the best WR commit UT had, IMO. I think it was pretty obvious from a film standpoint that Lee would have quickly became a contributor for UT in the slot. He sure looked to be college ready at the WR position.

Not thrilled he is parting ways, but I do trust that Coach Jones has a plan. I do wish Lawrence Lee the best though.

I for one do not know how it all played out and probably never will. I wish him the best on his college choices.

Feel bad for the kid. Kid has been excited about being a Vol and probably telling any person who will listen about it. Now he has to tell people why he isn't going. Part of the recruiting game.

Lee will end up fine. He is a talented athlete and will have a chance to play in the NFL if he wants to dedicate himself to his craft. He is gonna get a free education some where as well. Once the wound heals he will realize he will be fine.

Im willing to bet that there was some surprise on the staff with his lack of size. Looking at the group picture there is a noticable difference between him and Booth.

Looks like we may be about to make a run at Freddy Canteen. He is one if Creamer's teammates. He looks like he will be an outside guy. Idk if he has a thread and it is a too much trouble to do on this phone so someone else can do the honor

We can speculate what happened but the most likely scenario is CBJ got a commitment from a better player. With a team with so many needs we don't have space to hand out spots to whoever. Not saying Lee didn't warrent a spot, but evidently someone felt he didn't.

Exactly. We take some type of combination between Malone, Lauderdale, and Booth... maybe all three. Then use his old spot on a position of huge need... you know, DT.

One thing we will never hear about this is a comment from any of our coaches. They can't talk about unsigned players so we will be left with just everyone's speculation. I wish the young man nothing but the best.
