still though, no one wants to hear about OSU on volnation....we just don't. Around here, Tennessee is the ONLY school a recruit should go to and to go anywhere else is just...welll...ridiculous.
but really. pages of OSU love should be on the buckeye forum. I'm guessing 95% of people here agree with me on this?

Whatever pal. I said I don't see the appeal of OSU, bcs bowl wins notwithstanding. Still don't see it. You do. Maybe you don't see the appeal of UT where I do. It's called disagreement.

If you're referring to my original post, which I think you are, I never said OSU has nothing to offer. Simply stated that as an outsider, I don't see the appeal and I mentioned about 4-5 things.... it was hardly a comprehensive list. I know they have great tradition and a historically winning program(unless they're playing an SEC school). In comparison to schools like other non-UT schools (say Florida or Stanford or USC for example) I just don't see it. I'm sure an OSU fan would catalog all the positives there and doubt why kids would want to go to UT.

If you don't see the appeal of playing at any top 10 program then there's something wrong with you.

For some reason I thought the VolNation board was for Tennessee fans to discuss things related to Tennessee football. If a person wants to brag on another school they should do it on that schools board. I don't really like Ohio State and I can't stand their obnoxious coach. I'm not going to their board to talk about him because I'm not an OSU fan. I would rather "fans" from other schools stay on their boards and stop bragging about or defending their team or trolling on the Tennessee board.

Duke has been a good poster for several months now. A UT fan posted his opinion; he responded with a defense of his team (non-maliciously). Not trolling by any stretch.

It is not a disagreement. You said OSU routinely gets their asses handed to them in bowl games. I proved that is simply not true.

Why would I ever say that there is no appeal to playing for a program like UT? That wouldn't be very smart of me now would it?

I am not referencing the fact that OSU made the BCS games. I am referencing that despite the fact that the B10 is "pathetic", OSU still went on to win a very nice % of those games.

Also, only one of those BCS wins was against a PAC team in Pasedena. Maybe Oregon just wasn't good that year?

I absolutely agree with that statement. Dude caught an absurd amount of grief for what was a sensible (especially for this board) response to his school being knocked.

Duke wasn't trolling by no means, he provided facts and reasoning as to why he fells OSU is a top program. He was simply defending his team, and I respect that. I've never liked OSU because I feel like they've always had an easy road to the national championship being in the Big 10, and especially don't like them now that Meyer has taken over as coach, but they are one of the top football programs in the country. Simple as that. He's been a good poster as a fan of another school. No reason to hate on the guy.

I thought I was on the VolNation board instead of the OSU-UA-AU-UGA-FL-USCe-Vandy lovers board.
I hope that the OSU fans and CUM aren't angry with me. I'll have to do a search to see if I can locate the REAL VolNation board!
I do understand the point of the conversation much better than some people do because I'm a longtime Vol fan.

I live in Ohio and I have to agree. All in all it is a very bad state. I rarely travel north but when we drive up to Canton each year for the state football championships I'm amazed over how run down the state is. You get off on just about any exit and you see abandoned buildings everywhere, businesses who's store fronts are falling apart, it's a dying state for sure.
