'14 GA OL Orlando Brown (Signed with Oklahoma)

They were. I wonder if he meant like lose the bad weight and become more lean

This. He needs to bulk up by adding more muscle to his body while losing bad weight like fat in the stomach and hips.

He's shown the determination to transform his body. Doing what he has done is super impressive in a high school training program (much of it likely took extra-curricular training and eating discipline). With a college strength and conditioning program along with the dietary and nutrition experts UT has to offer, he should be able to do just that.

I expect by his 2nd or 3rd year in the program, weight will not be much of an issue for him.

It will be refreshing to see OL studs like this guy redshirted like the way TN did in the past when we had unreal depth on the o line.

Looks like he doesn't need to lose that much weight. Obviously every player always needs to get stronger.

For offensive linemen, especially tackles, those long arms are key. You can't just train and make your arms longer. Brown has the natural gifts to be a great LT, and he obviously is a worker, so - watch out.

I don't think he is a left tackle at all. I just don't see the footwork.

He's not at LT at all

Not bumping these to be a jerk, more for some fun discussion. I remember when I predicted he'd play LT long term at UT and these were the responses (from two really good posters).

Now he's playing LT at the All Star game and while he may start at RT in 14/15, I bet he ends his career at UT as the starting LT.

Part of it comes down to how the roster develops IMO. I think James could have easily switched to LT if Tiny didn't emerge. Too early to know which side he will ultimately end up on.

I still don't see it. Who knows what he is going to look like, athletically, if he drops another 30 lbs of bad weight, but I think he is a RT all the way.

To lose all that fat, he had to be in a calorie deficit, which is rough on muscle mass and strength. When his body fat % gets close enough, he can begin to add the muscle weight while keeping fat low with a guided program and nutrition. He's going to be unreal

Dirty bulk iyam.

Basically he needs to get Tiny'd (adj.)- A huge individual that is all carries weight well and looks like a brick house.

Is there an update anywhere on how their 1v1s went today?

Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge offensive tackle Orlando Brown was regularly praised for his potential on the day. For every good rep Brown had, he had one where he struggled. With gains in strength and work on technique, he has the potential to be a special offensive tackle in the view of some of the coaches working the event.

A mixed bag review, but there is certainly reason to feel positive. Seems like the perfect redshirt candidate. When Blair and Kerbyson graduate in 2 years, he will be on of 4-5 players who should have a shot at starting.

I have had a change of heart. would love to have him and Big Charles play both of the tackle positions. Would be big strong OL.

"Orlando Brown has definitely lost a lot of bad wait. He looks like a completely different player from last year. He still plays a little bit high, though, so he's going to have to learn how to bend his knees better."

And although the weight issue has been the reason he wasn't deserving of a 4th star, I have now set up my next excuse for not bumping him, since he looks muh better physically.
